QALO, based in Santa Ana, CA (Orange County), is in search of a Product Development Manager.

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the product development process from design to delivery, the Product Development Manager (PDM) must have project management skills and hit required deadlines for product launches.The PDM must have experience with overseas manufacturing, managing multiple product lines at once, working with product designers, and using a PLM software. The PDM must have the confidence to take initiative to ensure that all deliverable dates are hit.

• Grow company revenues by developing new products
• Manage and create product timelines using PLM software
• Manage product certification process
• Manage all compliance testing for product with 3rd party testing facility
• Work with manufacturing partner to enhance materials utilized in product
• Ensure products are safe enough to be placed on shelves and sold
• Work with product designer to meet deadlines and implement product vision
• Work closely with engineers/manufacturers to develop prototypes for products
• Work with vendors to identify issues with incoming products
• Work with manufacturing partners on best practices and methods to correct issues
• Participate in quality assurance process
• Work creatively with designers to constantly be focusing on product improvement
• Communicate daily with overseas manufacturers
• Communicate and manage process with local suppliers
• Manage future and existing assigned products, set objectives and report on performance
• Generate products and services from inception to commercialization for customers
• Work hand in hand with marketing department to make sure new products align with the current/future initiatives of QALO
• Work towards building a product management team to ensure process is efficient
• Lead team in developing and defining business requirements for retention products
• Think outside the box
• Ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met
• Participate in cross-functional teams to execute product development plan
• Conduct periodic product analysis and optimize as needed

Preferably has previous work in brands that occupy the similar active lifestyle space. Ideally, experience working with illustrator, Solidworks and a Product Lifecycle Management software.

Physical Demands and Conditions:
• Kneeling.
• Lifting a basketball overhead to shoot.
• Standing.
• Carrying your team in a QALO family feud game.
• Walking.
• Lifting heavy boxes (over 10lbs)
• Verbal communication and hearing/listening (just not to gossip or stories of bad dates)
• Picking up an employee that’s feeling down.
• Repetitive motions.
• Ability to celebrate with a peer when something great happens.
• Ability to “boogie” on a dance floor in whatever way they see fit.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus (we can always adjust font size.)
• The majority of work is performed in an office setting; and employees may remain in a seated position for extended periods of time, or you can get up and work from whatever space you like to save that lower back. We’re big fans of making sure that lumbar region is protected by QALO.

Mental Demands:
• While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to understand the QALO Qulture, embrace it, and practice what we preach.
• Intense thoughts may be used to plan the adventure day at QALO where the employee gets a paid half-day to take any adventure they like.
