Senior Finance Manager

BoCo Gear

Boulder, Denver Colorado

3 year(s)
Full-Time
$70000.00 - $85000.00 per Year

Job Description
Born in Boulder, BOCO Gear has grown rapidly since our founding to become the leading brand of custom headwear and accessories for the endurance, run, triathlon, cycling and outdoor industries. Thanks to a quick and wildly successful pivot to masks last year, we’re working to continue the explosive growth of our direct-to-consumer business while welcoming back the races, teams, and brands that we’ve worked with over the years on the custom side. Through it all, we’ve remained staunchly anti-bureaucratic, (almost) fully virtual, and very much a company that lives what we sell.

Reporting to the CFO, we’re seeking a Senior Finance Manager who combines big firm-level accounting experience with the independent personality to succeed in a company that, by structure and culture, doesn’t have anyone looking over your shoulder. In short, we do our own work, we have each others’ backs, but we don’t watch our own.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field
- 3-5 yrs progressive accounting experience
- Active CPA
- Attention to detail while working contentedly in an all virtual environment
- Strong spreadsheet skills
- Experience with QB Online and/or Enterprise

Duties/Responsibilities:
-Company’s full spectrum of financial reporting and related activities, including month-end closing and reconciliations; income taxes (work with CPA firm); bank account balances and cash management; operational and financial KPIs
- Own and evolve full-range of company’s financial processes and systems
- Human Resources, including: multi-state payroll; benefits admin (health insurance, retirement plans, disability policies, etc.); recruiting, on-boarding, and off-boarding of personnel
- A/P -- reconciliations and audits of orders across multiple factories, customers, and countries
- A/R -- monitor, research, coordinate, and collect post-invoicing late payments
- Freight/tariffs/duties covering an increasing variety of products shipping from multiple locations to the US and a good number for foreign countries
- Sales tax -- this is a particular focus as our direct-to-consumer biz expands rapidly
- Exception management across a wide variety of transactions, including shipping, quality, payment and other issues
- Ad hoc projects as needed in a growing, dynamic, flat organization undergoing near constant change

Full-time role with semi-flexible hours. Please show attention to detail by submitting a brief cover email, referencing one of the bullets above, along with resume with to [email protected]
