The Role:

The Demand Planner is responsible for coordinating and executing forecasting and planning activities in all markets of the organization, and across all product categories. In this role you will be expected to lead the Sales and Operations Planning Meetings. You will also be expected to work with Sales, Product Management and Purchasing to develop quality demand forecasts ensuring that all stakeholders can make informed decisions and plan the business effectively.

Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Develop and manage accurate demand forecasts that incorporate current and relevant market information to predict customer demand and provide purchasing group with demand inputs to create and execute buy action
• Develop detailed model level yearly Sales Forecasts based on observations, knowledge and assessments; collaborate with Sales group
• Identify forecast accuracy by reviewing and reporting variances to Sales Budget and use feedback to refine S&OP process and companywide forecasting
• Develop reports to determine priorities and areas of opportunity and confirm/communicates results; creates ad hoc reports as necessary
• Accountable for ensuring forecast accuracy and achieving inventory level targets
• Demonstrated ability to improve and manage S&OP processes and associated planning templates
• Complete historical review of actual sales data to inform forecasting attributes, including platform volumes, seasonality, model spec, size curve & color
• Identify forecast accuracy root causes and refine process to ensure continuous improvement of the overall process and refine forecasts

Competencies and Requirements:

• University Degree in Business
• Minimum of five years’ experience as in Demand Planning
• Bicycle industry experience strongly preferred
• Access and SQL knowledge and experience an asset
• High level Excel knowledge and ability (VBA, Pivot Tables and Advanced Formulas)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate and present information to all levels of management with supporting analysis and assumptions
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team
• Ability to learn and apply new forecasting systems

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English
