Job Description

HydraPak is looking to add a Graphic Designer to its team in Oakland, CA.

Position Objective:

This position’s primary objective is to work directly with the marketing and product teams to execute all aspects of the visual presentation of the brand including workbooks, hangtags, owner’s manuals, catalogs, packaging, print and web ads, trade show booth graphics, fixture graphics, web sites, email, in store marketing materials, and promotional items. Active participation in overall marketing planning, strategy and activities is also required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Graphic design and layout for all applicable HydraPak projects including: Website graphics, Email graphics, Advertising (print/online), Workbooks, Catalogs, Packaging, Hangtags, Owner’s Manuals, Social media graphics, Retail support, Events/tradeshow graphics, Internal documents Support
• Participate in overall creative/design for inline and OEM products
• Understanding of the HydraPak brand, as applied to national and international audiences
• Maintain and develop visual consistency across all media including print, web and product aligning with the HydraPak brand guidelines
• Collaborate with the Web Developer on the development and brand requirements on the website
• Support all online or digital efforts with supplied graphics and branding standards
• Coordinate with internal and external resources and vendors
• Manage creative assets on internal servers as well as external resource sites
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends (outdoor and graphic design) by reviewing professional publications and websites, participating in professional societies if possible, or attending an annual design conference or training

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

• Standard work day Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM in Oakland, CA
• Additional time occasionally required outside normal hours for travel, trade shows, or special projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four year college or university; or Associate’s Degree and 2+ years related experience and/or training in a graphic design or marketing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with UI/UX design
• Proficient in standard color correction and image editing
• Strong understanding of prepress and printing processes and terms
• Proven written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills
• Understanding of project budgets, deadlines and priorities, as applied to managing workload and planning
• Ability to learn quickly in order to gain understanding of HydraPak product line as it applies to all creative projects
• Proficient with email, Microsoft Office Suite, and use of Drop Box
• Ability to work autonomously, practice good judgment, effective decision making and time management skills
• Ability to work in, and make a positive contribution to a team environment
• Experience within the Outdoor industry and passionate about an active lifestyle a plus
