Job Description/Position Overview

The Marketing Manager reports to the Show Director and is responsible for developing, implementing and executing the association’s integrated marketing strategy promoting the annual American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) with focus on the consumer and trade sectors. Includes, attendance-building initiatives, development and execution of B2B and B2C communications, brand awareness, support exhibit space sales & sponsorships, financial administration and related marketing collateral.

Responsibilities
• Work with show team and outsourced vendors including media buyers, PR agency, graphic designer, printers, ad production, web hosting, social media, etc.
• Manage all aspects of the AIMExpo website
• Work with media buyer to develop media buys for the show, ensuring best practices are followed
• Work with show management and PR agency to develop PR plan for each show, ensuring best practices are followed
• Participate, along with media buyer, PR agency and show team in all media promotional meetings with local media to develop attendance-driving promotions, features and media sponsors for each show
• Manage and develop strategy for digital marketing and social media. Works with PR agency on execution of all digital marketing and social media initiatives. Ensure content is engaging, relevant and consistent with AIMExpo vision and voice
• Make recommendations (along with AIMExpo team, PR agency) for potential show features or celebrity/expert appearances to drive attendance
• Assist with copy development and oversee creative and production of all show advertising maintaining a consistent look and feel
• Work with PR agency to develop copy, oversee production and distribute all attendee emails
• Oversee trafficking of all paid and promotional media with media buyer
• Oversee the development and building of opt-in e-database for all attendee types
• Work with show team to develop and implement online advance ticket sales including social deals and strategic partnerships
• Track advance sales vs. prior year and help execute last minute promotions and discount ticket offers if sales fall behind prior year
• Assist in development of sponsorship proposals where media inclusion is requested
• Create methods by which marketing initiatives may be tracked and tested, whenever possible.
• Manage all issues related to CAN-SPAM and ensure compliance in all communications
• Oversee and distribute consumer and exhibitor online surveys, tracks results and present key data to show team
• Compile and provide detailed reports annually to show team including top URL referrers to show website; web stat analysis; attendee zip code analysis; etc.
• Spearhead in-market consumer grassroots marketing programs with outreach to local clubs, retail attendees and regional events
• Manage barter / trade agreements with all media partners
• Assists show team in securing and working with outside vendors including: photographers, printers, mail house, etc.
• Work with show team to develop exhibit sales marketing budget
• Utilize show content provided by show team, develop copy and oversee creative and production of all exhibitor marketing collateral maintaining a consistent look and feel
• Work with show team to compile, develop copy, and produce post-show report
• Become the voice of the brand. Edit, proof, and rewrite communications written by others prior to distribution
• Work with show team to develop copy, oversee production and distribute all exhibitor and prospect marketing emails
• Assists show team in building of exhibitor and prospect opt-in e-database
• Develop Exhibitor Marketing Tools and work with exhibitors to take advantage of these resources to ensure their maximum ROI
• Distribute weekly exhibitor lists to Social Media agency, PR agencies and other partners as required
• Prioritize tasks and projects to ensure their timely and accurate completion
• Manage Marketing Timeline for all planned activities, projects and tasks
• Effectively communicate to internal and external customers the AIMExpo vision at all times
• All other duties as assigned as per business needs.
