Job Description

URBAN ARMOR GEAR (UAG), a leader in the consumer electronic accessories space, is a fast paced, lifestyle-driven company that designs, manufacturers, and sells rugged, light-weight, accessories for cell phones, tablets, and laptop computers. We are looking for a talented Design Manager to join our growing creative team. You’ll be part of an elite group of graphic and industrial designers who develop and market products for UAG’s expanding product offering. The right individual embodies UAG's commitment to producing unique, branded, high-quality products.

You will work directly with industrial design, graphic design, and marketing teams to ensure the timely delivery of brand assets including packaging, web, print, and a wide variety of promotional materials. We’re looking for an experienced Designer Manager with the ability to quickly delivery amazing deliverables while collaborating respectfully within a team environment.

Responsibilities include- Managing project deliverables, timelines, and priorities. Negotiating rapidly shifting priorities and communicating expectations to assigned designers and well as project requestors This person reports to the company founders.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors or equivalent degree in graphic design or a related field from a recognized university.
• At least 10 years’ experience in managing design projects involving digital assets, marketing campaigns, and at least 5 years leading initiatives at a senior level.
• Strong project management skills; Ability to work effectively and efficiently towards set goals in a complex and diverse, rapidly changing environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to manage vendors, designers, stakeholders, schedules, risks and creatively leverage internal and external resources
• Demonstrated ability prioritize team workloads across multiple projects.

SKILLS:
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate and graphically communicate the vision of design projects
• Partners with Vendors, Business and Technology stakeholders to deliver design projects
• Ability to demonstrate a passion for design and user experience
• Able to demonstrate best practices in design, and an understanding how to balance composition, white space, and focal elements to create desirable design pieces
• Understanding of consumer electronic and consumer goods market issues, competition, industry trends and future technologies
• Takes personal responsibility for enabling solutions and is accountable for project success
• Participates in design strategy planning, providing leadership, vision and direction setting for project teams, vendor, and business partners
• Possesses strong teamwork, collaboration and coordination skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a global cross-functional team
• Ability and desire to effectively drive change through empathy, and persistence
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in managing multiple projects across channels—print, social, email, video and web
• Demonstrated experience in national marketing campaign support
• Experience Managing Projects related to Corporate Branding & Identity, Web, Packaging, Retail, and Tradeshows.
• Demonstrated strategy for managing quality control.
• Experience with managing a design proofing process, design archive, and implementing design version control systems
