Bern is in search of a Director of Marketing & Brand Management to join the team at headquarters in Kingston, MA (outside of Boston).

POSITION SUMMARY //
The Director of Marketing is responsible for directing and managing the execution of the organization's marketing plans, marketing budget, advertising, brand management, communications, and promotional programs internationally and domestically.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES //
• Develop and execute the master marketing plan, coordinating with the product manager, ownership, and executive team to integrate product specific plans.
• Manage the marketing budget and deliverables.
• Develop and execute advertising/media plans and negotiate media buys.
• Facilitate the development of all marketing communications and promotional activities related to brand development and overall product promotion within IBD’s, Specialty, Mass and sporting good retailers.
• Create new website and an ongoing SEO plan relative to company’s website and direct sales B2C & B2B.
• Collaborate with US and International sales management team to execute two annual sales meeting held domestically and internationally.
• Manage professional athletes, budget, contracts and relationships.
• Manage the development of product packaging (including design and copy), collateral, merchandising, and advertising materials.
• Develop and administer retail merchandising program, promotional programs, and co-op program.
• Collaborate with US and International Sales and Product Management teams to plan and execute channel promotional and merchandising programs.
• Oversee international and domestic trade show activities.
• Coordinate development and placement of advertising and collateral creative.
• Manage social media channels and create collateral.
• Continually monitor market trends, identify opportunities and risks and make recommendations to drive business to meet objectives.
• Quantify and track brand "health" and performance and work with cross-functional teams to increase relevant metrics.
• Quantify and track ROI of advertising and promotions.
• Hire, manage and promote pro/team athlete program.
• Help foster internal passion and excitement for brand tenets and direction.
• Hire and lead PR team to develop PR strategy, plan, and execution.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS // To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• Demonstrable experience with managing a premium brand of consumer hard goods, preferably action sports head protection industry, outdoor or sporting goods industries.
• Demonstrable experience with digital and all social media.
• Highly organized with strong written and oral communications skills.
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter, hands on.
• Requires 25 - 35% travel.

Education Qualifications //
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
• 'Minimum 6 years of management experience in Marketing.

Computer Skills //
• Ability to utilize personal computer business applications, such as word, excel, adobe and strong PowerPoint presentations to large groups.
