Bern Unlimited is looking for an “In-House” Sales Representative to oversee, manage, grow and travel throughout New England Territory, primarily within Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

POSITION OVERVIEW-
Candidate will report directly to the US Sales Manager to achieve the sales and profitability objectives of the Region as a Bern employee. The New England Representative shall own sales results for their region by ensuring that their territory IBD and specialty shops hit the stated sales and minimum inventory goals. This individual is accountable for the continuing professional development of his/her region, helping to set priorities for the individual retailers within Independent Bike Dealers, Specialty shops within Snow, Bike, Water and skate divisions. Opportunity to qualify and procure new business within Big Box retailers, or sporting goods network pending experience.

REQUIREMENTS AND TASKS //
• Ability to regularly travel New England territory year-round for Bike, Skate, H2O and Snow Sales
• Open new accounts and maintain existing accounts in New England region (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI)
• Evaluate and suggest accounts in all principles for financial growth and market strength
• Generate and increase sales, market share and brand awareness throughout New England territory
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retailers
• Attend and manage national & regional tradeshows, pop-up marketing events sales meetings, demos and relevant company events. Efforts will include establishing shop employee programs.
• Schedule seasonal product showings and meet pre-book deadlines.
• Understand market trends, sell-thru data reports, sales forecasts, etc.
• Over all servicing of accounts to maximize sales and customer service.
• Meet or exceed annual sales goals.
• Weekly contact with Sales Manager for updates on products, stock, marketing campaigns, news.
• Maximize product positioning at retail level through regular visits and POP support.
• Work closely with accounts to maximize sales opportunities.
• Educate and inform accounts on the Bern Unlimited brand, products, events and news.
• Perform retail sales clinics on product function and key features.
• Prepare, plan, and deliver persuasive sales & product presentations.

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED //
• Proven experience hiring, training, and managing sales professionals.
• Ability to make good decisions based on data as well as experience and instinct.
• Strong financial and small business fluency.
• Proven personal and organizational leadership skills.
• Sales and results driven foundation.
• Flexibility and willingness to experiment and change.
• A “Get it done attitude” – someone who gets things done by setting and achieving goals.
• Passionate about the brand and action sports.

QUALIFICATIONS //
• 3-5+ years of experience as a sales employee with proven successful results
• Deep understanding of sales processes and implementation of those processes
• Comprehensive understanding of what makes a successful bicycle, ski/snowboard, water, skate dealer.
• Proven ability to create strategies for growth from current and future market assessment.

Physical and Travel Requirements //
• Extensive computer, Skype and phone use
• Travel 50% (+/-) within region and additional travel to trade shows.
• Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to travel by air
• Lift items that range from 20lbs.-30lbs.
