Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that garments meet design and fit intent as well Brand standards for construction and workmanship requirements from initial sketch review to final production. Work is to be executed through an established process, while meeting provided timelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with Design to ensure design and fit direction is clear and achievable.
• Translate Design sketch into accurate initial specs for development.
• Utilization and maintenance of block library and construction standards
• Provide technical leadership in all fittings; ensure clarity on design and fit intent.
• Accurately translate direction from fittings into technical written comments.
• Clear verbal and written communication with internal and external partners to clarify fit direction or seasonal fit strategy.
• Partner with internal and external partners to ensure the desired product and timelines are achieved.
• Ensure Brands standards are applied and produced each season; size/grade, workmanship, construction and aesthetics.
• Maintain and create block and standards library for each product category owned.
• Creation and management of support documentation for standards, as needed.
• Daily maintenance of seasonal tracking logs.
• Partner with Pattern Maker when necessary to develop block patterns or revise factory patterns

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Five + years in apparel industry in a Technical Design and pattern making capacity.
• Technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing operations; machinery, stitches, threads
• Intermediate knowledge of patternmaking and concepts.
• Mechanical knowledge of apparel grade; movement and proportion
• Women’s knit and woven experience required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to mentally complete basic mathematical computations
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a multi-task environment with a sense of urgency to meet development and production timelines.
• Strives to increase productivity; looks for ways to improve and promote quality and process.
• Must be highly organized, detail oriented and experienced in proactive problem solving.
• *The employee is regularly required to lift a 35-40lb dress form for garment evaluations*
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design/Apparel Engineering/Pattern Making or equivalent training combined with work experience.
• Computer Applications: Gerber Accumark PDS, Gerber Version 8.4 or current, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook. Power Point), Illustrator preferred but not required. PLM experience is a plus.
