SUMMARY //
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our corporate team in Costa Mesa, CA. The HR Manager will be required to provide broad Human Resource knowledge and experience to many HR functions including employee relations, work related injuries, affirmative action reporting, performance management, and leaves of absence. This position will also manage team members who oversee full cycle recruitment, employee engagement, payroll, retail store operations, retail employee relations and corporate reception.

The HR Manager serves as first point of contact for internal and external customers seeking assistance in the areas of general human resources services including: employee relations, recruitment, contract labor, compensation, benefits, leave of absence, and compliance. This person needs to be comfortable making decisions and managing a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES //

1.) Employee Benefits:
• Annual evaluation of benefits and compensation to review employee averages and industry benchmarking
•Partner with HR Director to make all final benefit decisions and manage annual Open Enrollment process
•Manage Payroll/Benefit File Feeds, Discrepancy Reports and Benefit Billing
•Ensure timely resolution of employee benefit inquires. Assist claims or review benefits prior to procedures
• Serve as a401k Committee member. Connect employees with Mass Mutual team to assist with loans, withdrawals and rollovers. Set up quarterly 401k educational meetings
•Serve as a Wellness Committee Membe
•Work to ensure leave of absences, FMLA Act &/or State Family Care and Medical Leave Act, and Workers Compensation are handled in timely manner and meets all federal and state law
•Manage budget for leaves of absence, including coordinated pay and benefits

2.) Employee Relations:
•Main point person for day to day employee relations
• Performance improvement plans, coaching, counseling, feedback and one on one conversations with department leadership and employee
•Works through Company guidelines and processes to conduct investigations, provide resolutions and resolve complaints
•Guides management through the process of addressing underperforming employees
•Interprets policies and procedures to ensure team is consistent with overall decision making; particularly in areas where state regulations provide guidelines

3.) Performance Management:
•Partner with HR Director & Top Management to set timeline for all company performance reviews
•Administer reviews to all teams; work with Retail HR Business Partner to assist for retail teams
•Assist employees and managers with completion of reviews including self-evaluation, employee review and goal setting
•Ongoing people development: Cater to individual department needs and overall employee satisfaction

4.) HR Project Management:
•Affirmative Action Plan & EEO1 Report
•Annual Social Reporting
•Employee Opinion Survey & Follow up Action Plan
•Monthly & Annually HR internal reporting
•Handbook review and distribution; additional policies as needed
• Annual Budgeting process. Additional monthly budgeting updates for payroll headcount, benefits, training, and other expenses
•Annual 401k Audit
•HRIS point person; Currently on ADP Workforce Now for payroll, recruitment, benefits, and performance reviews. Review data accuracy for all staff.
•Partner with internal teams, finance, legal, etc
•Other projects as needed
