GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr. CAD Modeler does 3D modeling utilizing PTC Creo Parametric to produce high quality 3D data for new optical products.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Captures Designer’s intent utilizing sketches, scans, product definitions and various inputs from R&D and Engineering teams.
Produces tool-ready 3D data for performance products with consideration to fit, function, testing, quality, tooling, manufacturing & assembly.
Works in fast paced environment to produce multiple iterations and rapid prototypes.
Works cross functionally with design, engineering and manufacturing in order to finalize or edit design.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years’ experience with PTC Creo Parametric including proficiency with ISDX
Expert in creating tool ready, highly complex surfaces and solid models that are built to tight tolerances and smooth parting lines
Knowledge of plastics engineering injection molded parts
Understanding of manufacturing principles and processes
Strong time management skills with good planning and judgment to accomplishing goals within challenging deadlines
Able to solve complex problems by developing and evaluating options and implementing solutions
Possess a high degree of creativity and originality
Experience in working within a cross-functional team environment
Self-starter, self-motivated, ability to complete project goals with minimal supervision with high attention to details and quality of work
Strong analytics, interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written and digital presentations
Must be willing and able to adapt to change
Portfolio that demonstrates prior work including 3D files for review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering
Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Alias, Rhino, MoldFlow and simulation software
Eyewear and optics knowledge
