GENERAL FUNCTION

The Process Improvement Manager coaches/mentors the workforce of differing cultures and functions to raise the site’s lean capability, as well as to inspire the global manufacturing team, to improve performance in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost meeting financial goals. The Process Improvement Manager focuses on projects that reduce inventory, cost, and backorder along with facilitating lean training.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Leads projects across all the lean pillars at Oakley impacting manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality, HR, EHS, and industrialization.
Extends the culture of lean/continuous improvement to all levels from senior management to shop floor employees.
Drives the execution of kaizens and lean projects.
Trains/coaches/mentors personnel in lean and CI tools such as 6S, lean conversion standard work, kanban, value stream mapping, visual management, flow production, SMED, variation reduction/DMAIC, design for manufacturing/DFSS.
Selects, mentors, and certifies kaizen leaders to become lean tool experts (BB, GB).
Creates and facilitates Daily Management processes in designated areas (Gemba).
Maintains kaizen sustainment trackers and project KPI bowlers.
Develops lean/CI training material and executes training.
Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all cross functional departments.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in a Continuous Improvement role supporting an Operations manufacturing environment
Familiarity with Lean Principals, Six Sigma Tools, Strategic Planning, and Statistical Process Control techniques
Track-record as a successful “Change Agent” with proven results in front line roles such as supply chain manager, manufacturing manager, quality manager, op ex manager, or engineering manager
Excellent problem-solving skills with track-record of delivering results that directly impacted the bottom-line
Familiar with policy deployment
Ability to “influence”, interact and direct a diverse group of constituents to include senior management levels through line-level staff
Creative and innovative when looking for solutions for start-up problems, and provides idea’s for technical or organizational improvements
Strong Project Management experience and process improvement
Self-motivated individual, able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, can synthesize problems and easily report them to management


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Advanced degree
Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification in Lean
