GENERAL FUNCTION
The Production Planner Buyer drives customer fulfillment by interacting with internal partners including marketing, engineering and manufacturing to understand material and demand requirements. Works with external vendors to ensure best value, highest quality and timely delivery for optimal inventory levels in support of production plans.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with manufacturing, and purchasing teams at the SKU level to maintain a 98% customer fulfillment.
Works with production to monitor weekly/monthly production plans at SKU level.
Monitors goods inventory and availability to align with sales demand and customer delivery requests.
Monitors and updates planning dashboards/visual boards.
Maintains manufacturing rolling forecast and smooth production plan at SKU and process levels.
Maintains finished goods replenishment systems as proposed by validated MRP outputs.
Aligns and makes product allocation decisions.
Drives key department KPI: Backorder, lead time, production order aging, production plan accuracy.
Plans and executes new releases, end of life and engineering change production.
Participates in process improvement teams in Oakley’s planning and purchasing department.
Other duties and responsibilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Engineering related field
2+ years planning experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of MRP (Materials Requirement Planning)
Understand planning techniques in Just-in-time production environments
Advance Excel skills, proficiency in MS Office, Word and Outlook
Excellent oral/written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects
Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with decision-makers
Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined planning issues
Group facilitation skills for use with manufacturing projects
Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and meet firm deadlines
Experience with SAP MM, PP and BW
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
APICS CPIM and/or CPM certified
