The Sr. Product Manager drives the vision for the category by working with key stakeholders on channel assortment strategies to prioritize the Brand initiatives while driving growth & profitability. The Sr. Product Manager works with Sales, Marketing, Product and Operations to primarily drive optimized GTM for all optics product categories in to the sport channel. As a critical product advocate, the Sr. Product Manger also interacts with the field to provide insight on current market trends, while anticipating successful future assortments.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Articulates the difference in market trends and needs across multiple regions while influencing the global line and planning perspective.
Maintains a strong understanding of product line planning, dynamics that live within the assortment, and how to sell and service each market segment.
Uses strong analytical skills in forecasting and BU planning, ensuring products are in line with market needs.
Promotes education and training of the sales force by highlighting the subtle nuances that distinguishes Oakley from its competitors.
Reviews product concepts through the regional lens to provide Insights for Global team such as product trends, needs, and competitive landscape.
Provides feedback and suggestions based on observations and local visits to key stakeholders around the Brand view from a technology perspective while anticipating customers’ future needs outside of obvious product gaps.
Provides early read product forecasts (6-8 months prior to launch) by SKU to aid global planning & manufacturing.
Identifies any unique local product requests to drive the business forward while planning into global line plans.
Travels extensively within NA Market (~50%) to account trainings, tradeshows, internal regional meetings, and local sales reps in key markets.
Supports key local initiatives - Trade Shows, product launches, etc.
Partners with distribution center on getting reps the ideal assortment of samples.
Maintains strong partnership with global partners (product/GTM) regarding specific fulfilment needs to support key brand initiatives.
Develops action plans by channel to limit inventory risk, meet market demand & recover budgets (GTM Decks, Order Forms, Hot sheets, Assortments, and Catalogs).
Creates planograms for ideal assortment to support the distribution strategies provided by sales team.
Organizes data for sales teams, inclusive of pricing, technical features & key marketing stories.
Provides input on channel campaign direction - technology/product highlights, brand story, athletes, etc.
Regionally adapts global communications to local sales & marketing teams for upcoming product launches.
Develops a product tiering strategy for each channel (assortments, in store, incentives, training and service).
7+ years of experience working within sales, product and/or marketing
2+ years of Go-To-Market experience
Strong ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders
Working knowledge of SAP (or similar system)
Excellent communication, storytelling & presentation skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
2+ years of Go-To-Market experience within the apparel and accessory industry
