GENERAL FUNCTION
Position requires knowledge of engineering techniques - Plan/conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems while working closely on processes to qualify/sustain controls, troubleshoot issues and enhance operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensuring the manufacturing process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet KPI’s (Safety, Volume, Efficiency, Cost, Yields, Service)
Ensuring all aspects of an operation/process meets specified health & safety regulations.
Develops and implement processes, tools, equipment and controls for Manufacturing
Evaluate current manufacturing chemicals to optimize the process using scientific principles


Develop, document and maintain Process Capability metrics and statistical process Control Plans and PFMEAs


Proactively look for and recommend process improvements by using lean principles to optimize both manufacturing and business processes.
Cross-functional teamwork to solve complex problems and recommend improvements (R&D, NPI, Finance, Production, Maintenance, Assembly, Customer)


Manage/prioritize multiple small scale projects in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Assessing processes for their relevance and assess the adequacy of engineering equipment.


Interface with internal engineering disciplines (mechanical, chemical, maintenance, tooling etc.) to ensure coordinated design and complete engineering deliverables.
Able to benchmark global projects
Coordinate and lead Cross-functional meetings and follow-up actions with the team
Able to present projects to the Executive Team
Assist to Operations with training and standardization in all shifts


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Manufacturing)
2-4 years of related work experience
Good communication skills and ability to interface with related departments.
Skills in Math, problem solving, creative and critical thinking
Advanced MS Office skills
Ability to implement processes that have delivered MEASURABLE KPI’s
Ability to work with teams undertaking Continuous Improvement activities.
Knowledge of systems / processes that ensure decisions are data driven.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

S. in Chemical Engineering
Bilingual – English and Spanish.
Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Certification.
AutoCAD
Minitab Software to perform/analyze Design of Experiments.
