GENERAL FUNCTION

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day to day activities within their assigned area for safety, quality and production. The Production Supervisor addresses root cause and ensures highest quality of product.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Supervises the job performance of employees on assigned shift, making sure their work runs on schedule and meets company standards for safety, quality, production, and waste.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Works on continuous improvement projects.
Works with engineering and maintenance departments relative to modification of processes and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Performs regular daily audits of key processes to ensure optimum process performance.
Validates effectiveness of all department training programs.
Measures and evaluates employee performance according to company standards for quality, productivity, and career advancement.
Actively builds Qas’ and Controllers’ skill set to create a cross functional workforce and increase efficiencies.
Stimulates teamwork within his/her departments. Creates a fair and positive environment that fosters a solid work ethic and maintains a good team attitude within the group.
Ensures departments are a safe work environment.
Leads activities to communicate and maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
Supports & manages MRB process and related functions. Maintains the Material Review Area to ensure that all products are distributed in a timely manner.
Actively builds Leads’ and Production Employees’ skill set to create a cross functional workforce and increase efficiencies.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience
2+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
1+ year(s) leadership/supervisory experience
Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution and team based success
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and ability to synthesize problems and easily report them to management
Creative and innovative when looking for solutions for start-up problems, and able to provide idea’s for technical or organizational improvements
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
Developed computer skills in MS Office and ability to learn other systems (SAP)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
Experience in a high volume and multiple shift environment
