Rapha inspires people to push beyond their limits. Through the stories we tell, the rides and experiences we host and through our products, our brand helps riders go further and we intend to bring this same approach to mountain biking.

The Rapha MTB Content and Social Manager is responsible for developing the written content and driving communications for the MTB side of the business. This is a broad range of short and long-form content that includes writing and developing copy across product descriptions, marketing emails, social media posts, editorial features and the signature story labels hidden in many of our products.

The candidate will be an integral part of a small team that sits at the heart of the brand with a strong reputation for consistently delivering top-class written content. They will be required to take on significant responsibility from the outset and lead the evolution of the brand’s
distinct tone of voice in mountain biking. Possessing an excellent command of the English language, the candidate will be required to deliver consistent quality writing in a variety of styles. They will have high standards for their own work, writing with style and paying careful attention to detail.

This role will report directly to the General Manager of Rapha MTB but will work closely with many functions within the existing business: frequently collaborating with the Brand Creative Director, Senior Copywriter, MTB Marketing Manager, global PR manager, Central Marketing teams, and CRM. The Content and Social Manager will be a representative of the brand to Rapha’s online community, customers, industry partners, and athletes.

A positive and professional force for the brand, this person will play a critical role within Rapha’s organization.

THE ROLE
Developing the written elements of the Rapha MTB content strategy including editorial features, social media posts, marketing emails, product descriptions on Rapha.cc, etc.

Helping to plan, develop and manage organic and paid Social channels:
- Instagram
- Facebook
- Twitter

• Ensuring global campaigns are executed flawlessly and with the right tone of voice for Rapha MTB across multiple comms channels and customer touch points.
• Working closely with the General Manager Rapha MTB, Brand Creative Director, Marketing Manager Rapha MTB and Central Marketing teams to help develop and execute MTB content calendar on budget, on time, on strategy
• Driving consistency of planning and execution across Rapha’s key communications channels
• Leveraging analytics proactively and reactively to monitor KPIs and drive success with our online community, changing tack on the fly where necessary
• Working with our media agency to ensure all communications are delivering against the marketing goals
• Setting targets for all key social activity (qualitative and quantitative) and reporting back to the business on a monthly basis.

THE CANDIDATE
• Comes with strong knowledge and passion for mountain biking culture and trends
• An experienced writer that is happy to craft copy both from an operational and creative lens.
• 2+ years experience managing social media platforms and/or previous agency, journalistic or brand experience
• Be an advocate for the Rapha mission: to make cycling the most popular sport in the world.
• Has a natural sense of urgency and approach to work daily
• Highly motivated clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, who’s able to issue concise feedback and direction to internal and external stakeholders
• Has a ‘willing to do whatever it takes’ attitude
• Proactive, dynamic interpersonal style
• An ability to operate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
• Good business acumen
• Highly organized
• Loves to plan, build and manage project and production timelines and budget
