Buff, Inc., located in Santa Rosa, CA, is in search of a National Sales Manager.

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for the sales expansion and distribution of its BUFF brand within Running, Cycling, Snow, Fishing and Outdoor recreation markets.

The National Sales Manager will find the development of the multiple markets exciting and will look forward to broadening the product’s reach even further beyond: run, bike, outdoor, ski and fishing/hunt to potentially include hardware/construction, military, collegiate and corporate/logo wear. This management opportunity is for a critical team player who recognizes that the business is poised for growth in a variety of segments/channels but he/she must strategically prioritize the opportunities to align with the company resources and core competencies. In this role, you will be responsible for the US sales planning, strategy, execution and financial results. The results ultimately matter but they are the byproduct of the leading indicators of sales efforts such as rep/inside sales engagement through daily calls, clinics, merchandising, trunk shows, events, etc., that help generate our sell-through demand.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Bring market channel expertise to drive market penetration by benchmarking the distribution of key brands in our channels or the channels we wish to penetrate compared to Buff’s distribution. For example, in pioneering the hardware channel, what hardware clothing brands distribution can we benchmark: Carhartt, Dickies, Gravel Gear, etc. to contrast our distribution vs. theirs?
• Manage key accounts, buying groups and Buff, Inc.’s top customers to ensure planned results are achieved.
• Attend and lead key account previews and presentations, regional events and regular territory visits.
- Provide timely communications to inform customers and management on status of pre-line and line review meetings, programs, changing conditions, and on competitive activities that might affect business results.
• Manage, lead, mentor and motivate independent sales reps and travel the U.S. market territories in support of regional reps
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts, by product, by channel and by major customer. Generate Rep sales budgets and tracking to achieve plan.
- Establish regional sales goals and manage sales performance.
- Develop and implement sales programs for specialty channels of distribution.
- Implement a customer relationship management program (i.e. Salesforce, Zoho, etc.) to track business opportunities and status at key accounts.
• Manage sales strategies, prioritize and develop prospective new business opportunities.
• Lead all planning, agendas, strategies and schedules for trade shows and sales meetings.
• Partner closely and collaborate with Marketing, Product Development and Product Managers to define product line, develop marketing & sales support collateral, and rep samples.
• Keep management informed by preparing weekly reports, making presentations, interpreting information and making recommendations.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in related area
• 5-7 years of proven track record of success within multi-sport, outdoor, fishing or running.
• Location: You will be based at U.S. headquarters, Santa Rosa, CA
• A team player, servant-coaching style of leadership willing to implement the hard people choices in a compassionate but efficient manner.
• Ability to work in a variety of product categories and industries is a plus.
• Self-starter, this is a “hands on role”. Must be tenacious and resourceful.
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
• Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
• Proficiency with MS or Mac Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM software).
• Passionate interest and active participation in related sports.
• Extensive travel…up to 50% at times.
• Must be able to ride a bike “no handed” and chew gum quietly
