Six locations merchandised with brands including Patagonia, The North Face, prAna, Mountain Hardware, Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Lilly Pulitzer, TOMS, L Space, Vitamin A and more serve customers in North and South Carolina. Mobile retail operations extend along the Eastern seaboard. At one location there is an extensive standup paddleboard and bicycle sales and rental operation. The founders started the company in 2008to cater to like-minded individuals who enjoy spending their days outdoors and want to outfit their lifestyles with premium clothing and equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Coastal Urge is seeking a full-time Director of Sales & Operations to run daily operations at six brick-and-mortar retail locations across North and South Carolina. The Director of Sales & Operations will increase revenue, refine logistics, and institute staff and management training.

** Must have experience managing a multi-door retail business in the outdoor or similar industry to be considered for this role. Applications with exclusive work experience in pharmaceutical sales, restaurant, or other unrelated industries will not be considered. **

Primary Duties Include:
- Collaborate with the CEO and CFO on matters of policy and oversight to monitor and improve the alignment and communication of the core values, corporate vision, mission, goals, policies and procedures throughout the organization.
- Assume full responsibility for the daily operations of all retail locations, mobile stores, distribution center, and island reservations and rentals booking.
- Provide direction and support to all staff to achieve established goals.
- Design and implement CRM programs and policies to increase revenue.
- Institute management and sales staff training programs to support and enhance our commitment to top shelf customer service.
- Review and revise existing staff scheduling procedures.
- Improve efficiency and quality of Retail Sales Staff, Inventory Controllers, Guides, Rental Staff, and Reservation Teams.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of all retail store layouts and design to increase revenue yield.
- Coordinate promotional marketing plans with Product Merchandising and Marketing.
- Design and implement regular inter-departmental meeting schedule to improve communication, establish benchmarks, and uncover new revenue opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports for CFO and CEO.
- Define staffing requirements and oversee hiring of new employees in all divisions.
- Organize and execute, with Specialty Events Coordinator, retail store events and promotions to grow revenue.
- Conduct periodic reviews with team.
- Propose new communications and proactive order follow-up processes where needed to streamline operations and increase revenue.
- Achieve or exceed store sales goals in all locations including plan, comparison, credit card, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by executing marketing plans and integrating all corporate strategies into assigned stores.
- Build brand awareness and promote company image through partnerships and activities within the community, the shopping centers in which the stores are located, and by planning and executing grassroots marketing activities.

Other duties may include:
- Overseeing offsite events and trade functions.
- Coordinating with manufacturer representatives for brand-specific training and product demonstrations for the team.
