Job Description
YOUR MISSIONThis position will be responsible for building a profitable graphic apparel business and a desirable brand globally.
You will lead the Graphic apparel product design team throughout the product creation process from ideation through sampling (Product Ownership).
You will design and develop graphic apparel concepts and products that complement PUMAs global Brand initiatives.
Develop product that meets PUMAs quality requirements and is in line with global design and brand standards.
You will provide creative and managerial leadership to the Boston Graphic Apparel Design Team, and directly be responsible for driving the creative graphic design and execution of the Running, Training, Basketball and Regional Creation Centre apparel ranges.
Take responsibility and oversee the product creation process for Graphic Apparel.
Lead and drive product creation process from a graphic design perspective to ensure all tasks within the design/development calendar are achieved within the given timelines. Ensure Go To Market and calendar discipline of the design team.
Be accountable for providing frequent static and dynamic progress reports. Carry out market research including bench marking (competitor, best practice, etc.), consumer and retail price studies (desk and field) and trend analysis (color, materials, graphics).
Be pro-active and keep Head of Design updated through frequent status reports.
Be accountable for the organization and preparation of key meeting tools. Ensure excellent aligned apparel and graphic design concept and product presentations in front of small and larger groups.
Directly responsible for four direct reports. Establish and foster a strong, collaborative and efficient relationship with key peers in Product Development, Merchandising, Product Line Management, Sourcing and the Technical Department. Act as a key contact to our Product Design leads in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Foster an open, direct and positive communication culture and creative problem solving.
Participate in key International meetings at our German offices. Join the on-site graphic product development trips to review and finalize ranges. Gain market insight by visiting key retailers. Other travel destinations may be required from time to time. Approximate Travel Required: 20-25%


YOUR TALENTUniversity or Art School Degree in Graphic Design.
6+ years of relevant design experience within sporting goods or apparel industry (casual/lifestyle/fashion) as graphic designer plus a 3+ years at a senior/supervisory level with extended responsibilities.
Must have excellent skills in graphic product design and creative product development and execution.
Efficient technical background related to graphic apparel printing process, execution, techniques and quality requirements.
Efficient knowledge of the Sports and/or Sport Lifestyle market (Competition, Distribution, Price, Product, Consumer, Retail environment). International company background and brand experience preferred.
Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills (concepts, products, strategy)
Must be able to develop networks (PLM, Sourcing, Puma International partners) and maintain fair and honest relationships at all levels, (good inter-personal skills)
Ability to communicate effectively with clear, concise writing on an international level.
Language: fluent in writing & speaking English required.
Must have good skill set in fostering teamwork (team management; strong team player)
