Apparel Product Developer

REPORTS TO: VP of Product

Summary: The Apparel Product Developer will manage G-Form’s product development, communication and flow of information with peers, supervisors, license partners, vendors, and others to ensure a successful development cycle from design handoff to commercialization. This is a pivotal position on the product team in that all product flows through the hands of the Apparel Product Developer.

• Execute the sourcing and development of new fabrics, trims, construction and vendors to support new product development. Closely collaborate with Design, Product Management, Engineering and Operations throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Communicate clearly with domestic and international vendors ensuring direct and timely communication to meet deadlines and deliverables.
• Create and track non-production POs for development trims, swatches, strike-offs, samples and materials.
• Assist design team in creation of initial tech packs and construction specifications during design phase of development by reviewing, suggesting alternatives for manufacturing capabilities and monitoring timelines.
• Revise and maintain tech packs and specifications for existing and new products.
• Schedule and coordinate fit and wear testing programs for new products.
• Maintain fit notes and logs to ensure future samples incorporate necessary design and development changes.
• Facilitate a seamless transition of handoff from Design team to development.
• Proactively troubleshoot issues regarding fit, construction, materials, suppliers, etc.
• Coordinate orders and manage successful completion and delivery of Salesman Samples each season. Accurate and on-time delivery is paramount.
• Work closely with Operations team on any required development and sourcing projects.
• Work closely with R&D team members to execute on timelines and deliverables of new products.
• Perform additional R&D duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Requirements for the role:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in development or engineering.
• 7-10 years product experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, project management mindset, and time management skills required.
• Solid written/verbal communication skills and ability to work well with other departments.
• Passionate, energetic, eager-to-learn team player who can adapt to a constantly evolving startup atmosphere.
• Proficiency in MS Office Programs desired, specifically Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Passion for the sports and recreational activities G-Form serves is a strong plus.
