The Demand Analyst will partner closely with three of our most strategic and innovative functions – Sales, Category Management, & New Product Development. This person will provide concise forecasting, reporting and tools to enable data driven category, sales and portfolio decisions.
This individual needs to be highly analytical with the ability to synthesize data and make sound business recommendations to management. They must be a collaborative problem-solver, who not only understands the numbers, but also the broader business context around them. They must be creative in their approach to finding and presenting data. To be successful, this person must be able to communicate effectively with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and our Category team.
Consolidate and review the demand forecast to ensure all assumptions and details are thoroughly vetted
Review weekly / monthly sales vs. forecasts and explain any variances by working closely with our sales teams
Measure the forecast accuracy of each sales channel and distribute monthly scorecards
Review point of sale data, market data and internal sales data to provide a complete analysis on the health of each product category
Support Category Management with preparing presentations for monthly strategy meetings by collecting and analyzing data to inform critical business decisions
Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and data visualization to create dashboards that support the Sales & Category teams
Develop business cases for future products, from concept to launch, by partnering with Consumer Insights team and utilizing external and internal data sources
Develop a process for reviewing market size, competitive landscape, potential growth opportunities, and price trends
Analyze consumer response to price changes, promotions and innovation
Analyze legacy product lifecycles to understand innovation and EOL needs for sku rationalization and continued growth
Consolidate legacy forecasts with new product forecasts to show global portfolio sales
Own various ad hoc analysis and presentations as needed for senior management
Lead projects and initiatives focused on improving productivity and simplifying processes throughout the organization
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field
4+ years’ experience in demand and/or sales forecasting and analytics
Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Experience with fast growing, global consumer goods companies
SAP experience (preferred)
