The Demand Analyst will partner closely with our sales team to provide concise demand forecasting, reporting and insights into consumer behavior. This individual needs to be highly analytical with the ability to synthesize data and build sophisticated forecast models. They must be a collaborative problem-solver, who not only understands the numbers, but also the broader business context around them. They must be creative in their approach to finding and analyzing data. To be successful, this person must be able to create forecast models, communicate assumptions, and identify revenue risks & opportunities.
Utilize sales data, order pace, promotional calendar, web traffic, consumer insights, and strong analytics to develop item-level forecasting for multiple sales channels
Develop & maintain forecast models based off historical trends and anticipated demand drivers as part of the monthly S&OP process
Work collaboratively with business partners to better understand and account for changes in qualitative inputs to increase forecast accuracy
Collaborate on new product forecasts with Category Management, Sales, and Marketing
Review sales vs. forecasts to dynamically update projections and explain any variances by working closely with our sales teams
Analyze consumer response to price changes, promotions and innovation
Analyze and improve forecast accuracy; effectively determine sources of error and implement appropriate improvement plans
Provide input to the Supply Planning department in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
Own various ad hoc analysis and presentations as needed for Sales, Finance & Senior Management
Lead projects and initiatives focused on improving productivity and simplifying processes throughout the organization
Qualifications and Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field
3-5 years’ experience in demand and/or sales forecasting and analytics
Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Experience with fast growing, global consumer goods companies (preferred)
SAP experience (preferred)
Attention to detail, strong business acumen, love digging into data and finding drivers to demand
Combine curiosity with critical thinking and good judgment, and like asking "why" to unravel a seemingly complex problem and get to the root cause
Self-starter and persistent with strong analytical and organizational skills
Is known for developing and delivering results on a timely basis
Able to work in an ambiguous, fast-growing team-first environment
Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
