The Sr. Director, Brand Strategy and Consumer Marketing will serve as a key leader within the marketing team, working directly with the CMO to articulate, craft and drive the global brand strategies and marketing programs for the brand and product portfolio. S/he will lead a team of strategists and marketers focused on driving consumer engagement across all commercial channels, including direct-to-consumer and wholesale. S/he will be responsible for the development of revenue-generating strategies and directing the execution of extensive and innovative marketing programs designed to reach and drive traffic and conversion on a local, regional and national scale. The role is integral to fueling the brand’s continued growth and will be responsible for managing a multi-million dollar budget to deliver optimal marketing impact and increased customer value.
Develop and implement integrated seasonal marketing campaigns, promotions and activations which are grounded in key business initiatives and effectively drive revenue growth and maximize customer value; maintain clear and comprehensive marketing plans across all channel engagement.
Be a champion for the consumer and generate quantitative and qualitative insights to influence brand and product strategy, product positioning, and product launch strategy.
Develop and implement integrated global marketing and advertising programs to drive consumer awareness, adoption and activation.
Responsible for all consumer-facing marketing channels including Digital Marketing, CRM, Analytics, Performance marketing, Loyalty, Email, Direct Mail and Omni Media utilizing modern MarTech and Data strategies to inform decisions.
Lead the identification of business and consumer insights to establish key learnings that will inform the development of on-going marketing strategies and future innovation opportunities.
Monitor, analyze, and measure the effectiveness of brand and consumer marketing initiatives to develop insights and strategies in real time, short term and long term.
Lead, develop and support a world-class consumer marketing team by investing in and hiring excellent people, supporting them in their careers, and advocating for the resources and infrastructure that scale with the company’s short term and long term goals.
Collaborate and facilitate relationships with key stakeholders in the department across Creative, Community, PR, DTC and Operations to deliver strategic integrated marketing plans.
Continuously improve internal departmental processes to increase quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Partner and work effectively with Product Innovation team to deliver informed product marketing programs.
30% or more Travel, with high seasonal variation
Bachelor’s Degree required with a graduate degree preferred in marketing, communications, or related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in Brand Strategy within a consumer products brand and at least 8 years of experience leading teams.
Ability to clearly articulate and execute strategic vision, influence decisions, and drive leadership consensus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Comfort with delegation, along with the savvy to know when to get more deeply involved.
Executive-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working within a high growth, globally focused business.
Extensive experience working with marketing agency partners.
Proven track record leading world class multi-channel marketing campaigns with measurable results.
Strong cross-functional leadership and organizational skills.
Strong management and employee development skills.
