YETI is looking for a Social Media Specialist with a focus on Social Editorial Planning. This individual will thrive in a creative, fast-paced culture and will be adept at multi-tasking.
The Social Media Specialist will strategize, plan, source, and in partnership with the YETI Creative Studio, create brand focused social content including but not limited to new product launches, brand campaigns, and YETI Presents content. This individual will thrive in both content strategist and project manager aspects of the role.
The Social Media Specialist is creative and passionate about the YETI brand and community pursuits, and skilled at translating that passion into social content and copy.
A look at your day-to-day
⏵ Manage the social media editorial calendar, content channel strategy, and social planning & execution for the brand.
⏵ Work with the YETI Creative Studio to produce social content and copy that is seasonally and channel appropriate and aligns with the YETI community pillars and passion areas.
⏵ Manage social content projects and deliverables timeline for social media initiatives.
⏵ Work with Brand and Creative teams on social creative execution of brand concepts and plans.
⏵ Develop creative briefs with overarching strategic plans as well as tactical asset recommendations.
⏵ Collaborate on production of content during live events.
⏵ Concept, plan, and execute monthly Instagram Stories that represent key brand and product initiatives.
⏵ Contribute to the development of the YETI social media content guidelines to be applied to US and global social marketing.
⏵ Lead internal cross-functional team brainstorms to develop social story concepts and identify key brand topics for social content.
⏵ Work closely with creative teams, including photographers and visual designers, to develop creative assets.
⏵ Draft social copy that adheres to the YETI social brand persona and writing style.
⏵ Leverage social listening tools and collaborate with the Social Media Specialist I to mine for content that aligns with YETI’s social media strategy, including user-generated content, real-time marketing opportunities, and key community topics.
⏵ Stay informed of social media marketing trends and social channel capabilities as they rapidly evolve. Be proactive in informing the team of social media trends and opportunities that directly support the YETI social media strategy.
⏵ Maintain YETI YouTube channel presence by uploading and optimizing video content, engaging with the YouTube community, and following channel best practices.
Now for a little bit about you….
⏵ Bachelor’s Degree
⏵ 3+ years in social media or marketing experience
⏵ Proven track record and creative samples of large-scale social campaigns
⏵ Comfort leading meetings and collaborating with cross-functional teams
⏵ Excellent writing skills and the ability to customize copy to specific activities/markets
⏵ Experience with working with a wide range of creative formats including image, video, and link content, as well as newer formats such as ephemeral content, live videos, 360 videos and images, and GIFs
⏵ Self-starter with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, changing work environment
⏵ Strong knowledge of social content best practices and content specifications by channel
⏵ Moves with a sense of urgency and comfort with managing deadlines
⏵ Travel is required (20% travel to live events/story coverage)
⏵ Passion for the outdoors and/or YETI pursuits a plus
