Public Relations Intern Job in Austin, VT

YETI is looking for a Public Relations Intern to join our in house PR team for our Summer 2020 Internship Program. Reporting to the PR Manager, you will have the opportunity to hone your PR skills working for a top tier consumer brand throughout the 12-week internship program. Your support of the PR team will include building media lists and editorial calendars, monitoring coverage for YETI and our competitors, and managing a seasonal outreach campaign from material and media list development, to pitching, to ongoing engagement and monitoring.

Responsibilities:  


Compile media coverage for seasonal and annual campaigns

Monitor key outlets for relevant coverage ongoing

Own small seasonal outreach campaign including development of pitches and media lists, outreach to targeted media, ongoing engagement and coverage monitoring

Develop media lists for key markets

Develop seasonal and annual editorial calendars

Monitor and compile competitor coverage


Qualifications and Attributes:


Pursuing undergraduate degree in Public Relations or related (strong preference given to candidates expecting to graduate in 2020 or 2021)

Previous public relations internship experience preferred

Experience creating media lists preferred

Strong writing and communication skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work full-time hours through the duration of the program, May 26 through August 14, 2020, at our Austin HQ
