Overview of the Role:

The Manager, Product Safety role is responsible for supporting the strategic direction and tactical management of the Product Safety strategy at YETI. This role will help ensure YETI products meet all applicable consumer product safety regulations, supports implementation of new processes and improving existing processes, analyzing data, maintenance of records, and fostering working partnerships with YETI suppliers and third-party labs.

 

Additionally, in this role you will communicate critical product safety program requirements and expectations to cross-functional stakeholders throughout YETI and YETI suppliers, while owning goals for continued improvement of the product safety program and related metrics. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, influencing ability, relationship building and bias for action are core requirements of a candidate.

 

Additional responsibilities:

 


Assist with implementing the overall global Product Safety strategy.

Develop and implement written procedures, protocols, and training for testing and other product safety related areas.

Coordinate and assist cross-functional partners with new product development and product launches globally.

Track product safety regulatory changes and communicate potential impact to the business in a timely and proactive manner.

Identify and help drive continual process improvement.

Collect, analyze, and present applicable data to help drive decision making as required.

Assist with external third-party testing of products and interact as needed with the testing labs.

Interface with cross functional and global teams, and our international vendors. 


 

Qualifications:

 


Bachelor's degree preferred.

4-6 years’ experience in a Product Safety compliance role, preferable with consumer products.

Experience with US, Canada, and EU regulatory landscape.

Experience with China, Japan, Australia, and other international regulatory jurisdictions preferred.

Experience running multiple projects at the same time while maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines.

Experience working with co-manufacturing relationships in China, as well as other locations throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Collaborative and relationship building skills, ability to work well within a cross-functional team.

Experience helping to implement and train a product safety strategy and playbook.

Exceptional organizational skills and ability to continually meet critical deadlines.

Ability to work independently and autonomously.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence.

Knowledge of third-party labs and testing protocols for consumer products.

Experience working in compliance or heavily regulated product industry.

Ability to work under time pressure.
