The Manager, Product Safety Compliance role is responsible for supporting the strategic direction and tactical management of the Product Safety strategy at YETI. This role will help ensure YETI products, particularly related to soft goods such as bags, luggage and apparel, meet all applicable consumer product safety regulations, supports implementation of new processes and improving existing processes, analyzing data, maintenance of records, and fostering working partnerships with YETI suppliers and third-party labs.

Additionally, in this role you will communicate critical product safety program requirements and expectations to cross-functional stakeholders throughout YETI, while owning goals for continued improvement of the product safety program and related metrics.

Attention to detail, strong communication skills, influencing ability, relationship building and bias for action are core requirements of a candidate.

Responsibilities:


Assist with implementing the overall global Product Safety strategy

Develop and implement written procedures, protocols, and training for testing and other product safety related areas

Coordinate and assist cross-functional partners with soft goods product development and product launches

Track product safety regulatory changes and communicate potential impact to the business in a timely and proactive manner

Identify and help drive continual process improvement

Collect, analyze, and present applicable data to help drive decision making as required

Assist with external third-party testing of products and interact as needed with the testing labs

Interface with cross-functional and global teams, and our international vendors




Qualifications and Attributes:


Bachelor's degree required

6+ years’ experience in a Product Safety Compliance role, preferable with consumer products

Significant experience with the US, Canada, Australia, and EU product regulatory landscape

Experience with Japan, China, and other international jurisdictions preferred

Experience running multiple projects at the same time while maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines

Collaborative and relationship building skills, ability to work well within a cross-functional team

Experience helping to implement a product safety strategy and playbook

Exceptional organizational skills and ability to continually meet critical deadlines

Ability to work independently and autonomously

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting

Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence

Knowledge of third-party labs and testing protocols for consumer products

Experience working in legal, compliance, or heavily regulated product industry

Ability to work under time pressure
