The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the global accounting team based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Southwest Austin and will play a critical role supporting the significant growth in YETI’s international business. This position will be primarily responsible for providing accounting support to local country (Australia, Europe, Asia) accounting teams and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies. Individual will be responsible for leading the monthly global consolidation process, playing a key role in accelerating close processes and supporting key company initiatives.
You will need to be detail oriented, a collaborative problem solver and able to build sustainable and efficient processes from the ground up. To be successful, the individual must be able to communicate effectively cross functionally with both finance and non-finance team members.
Responsibilities:
Provide accounting support to local country (Australia, Europe, Asia) accounting teams and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies
Perform month-end consolidation of YETI subsidiaries, including translation of foreign denominated trial balances and elimination of intercompany balances
Ownership for ensuring all intercompany transactions are posted accurately and reconciled
Perform month-end close responsibilities (journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, etc.)
Lead and support business initiatives and finance projects, including an SAP upgrade
Update company’s policies and procedures as it relates to consolidation, intercompany and foreign currency matters
Develop strong working knowledge of ERP systems deployed in each of the international regions
Collaborate with key stakeholders and ensure policies and procedures can be executed
Perform technical accounting research, document conclusions and assess internal and external reporting implications
Provide insight to the business teams and FP&A regarding the accounting impacts of business decisions
Document and monitor internal controls over key financial processes and proactively partner with Internal Audit to improve the control environment
Assist in coordination of quarterly and annual external audits, including preparing support for external audit
Drive process improvements in close process, specifically related to consolidation procedures
Qualifications and Attributes:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting from a respected academic institution required
At least 4 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years of public accounting preferred
CPA designation required
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls required
Experience performing consolidation procedures for a global company
Prior experience accounting for intercompany and foreign currency matters
Experience with SAP/BPC preferred
Major ERP experience required
Consumer product experience strongly preferred
Passion for accuracy, details and organization required
