As Senior Manager of Lean Engineering in the Operations department, you will play a central role in leading and developing a global lean engineering team. You will be a member of the team that produces the best-in-class, tough-as-nails product that YETI is known for. This individual will interface with workstream and business owners including Engineering, Procurement and Quality to drive lean manufacturing improvements in production at our manufacturing partners and optimize our internal business processes through continuous improvement initiatives. This role will lead a global team focused on continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced environment while pushing the envelope of what is possible for best manufacturing process, product cost, and product performance.

Responsibilities:


Establish a multi-year Lean strategy for the Global Operations organization with the aim to develop world-class operations

Lead and direct continuous improvement programs while building and advancing a culture of lean at all levels of the organization, from individual contributor to senior leadership

Develop standardized approach to Continuous Improvement across the Global Operations organization, including common verbiage, tools, project template, training protocol, etc.

Effectively and efficiently communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership via presentations, dashboards, email, verbal, etc.

Demonstrate effective planning and effective stakeholder management as well as an ability to set and manage realistic timelines

Ability to drive change across the organization

Develop strong relationships and possess the ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels

Lead and support the Lean Engineering team by removing obstacles to allow them to achieve individual business goals

Manage a team of continuous improvement resources, review pipeline activities to evaluate progress on initiatives, and deliver measurable business benefit that is tracked and reported.

Analyze stakeholder needs, identify gaps, identify risks and define capabilities for an acceptable solution to the business problem

Build constructive business relationships with all stakeholders, including 3rd party vendors


Qualifications and Attributes:


Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college

Extensive Lean Six Sigma experience

At least 8 years working in global manufacturing environment with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional process improvement and business-wide improvement initiatives

Innovative and creative problem solver with meticulous attention to detail and a stickler for time management.

Strong understanding of business process mapping; application of these principles to solving complex business problems

Strong organization skills, including attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and prioritize projects.

Open to bi-directional feedback and able to apply it to improve themselves, their team, and YETI.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to filter and distill the relevant information to the right audience.

Comfortable with change and ambiguity with the ability to quickly propose solutions given limited guidance.

Can communicate with technical and non-technical team members effectively.

Previous experience in consumer product goods.

Ability to travel up to 25% is a must
