Job Description

Greenlayer is a global manufacturer of athletic and lifestyle apparel, specializing in custom apparel. Greenlayer services some of the largest properties in the endurance sports world and is recognized as a leader in the endurance, run, and multisport channels. The company is based in Portland, Oregon.

We are seeking a motivated professional, who is organized with experience in the outdoor or sports industry. Must have the ability to problem solve effectively, communicate clearly with customers and in-house team, and work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy.

As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for managing accounts across the country, and managing the following:
• Receives, reviews, and enters customer orders for in house sales reps or new sales inquiries
• Answer direct customer calls and retrieve messages from voicemail, e-mail, and web requests for product orders
• Manage and edit orders received for price and availability, style/color accuracy, and shipping within specific timelines
• Answers questions about product technical features, availability and other information.
• Provides resolution to inquiries and customer concerns related to the order delivery process.
• Inform customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer.
• Supports order tracking, price quoting, and scheduling.
• Communicate with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
• Compute correct pricing, availability, ship date, discounts, and estimated shipping charges and communicate this info back to retailers/sales reps as needed
• Obtains artwork files on custom apparel projects and coordinates with in house design to keep projects moving in a timely manner into production.
• Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with an established base of accounts through superior customer service
• Maintains accurate order entry and management of existing orders to effectively drive sales, minimize any financial impact both internally and externally and allow for smooth daily transactions.
• Follow up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates, utilizing Excel spreadsheet system to monitor timely arrivals. Communicate with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments
• Recommend purchase of additional merchandise based on knowledge of complete product lines, features, functionality and intended style combinations.
• Works effectively with others in a team-based environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Exceptional time management, ability to move through tasks quickly and accurately, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing; manage conflict to negotiate positive outcome; consistent follow-through and effective work planning; knowledge of Greenlayer products and its functionality.

• 3-5 years of experience in a Customer Service/Inside Sales or Support Position
• Responsible for order tracking, problem resolution and customer interface
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills
• Strong Excel, Word, Outlook, 10 key and data entry skills
• Experience with Order Mgt. Computer Systems
• Multi line phone system experience
• Background in the outdoor or sports industry or a passion for the outdoors/sports/running or endurance events is a plus
• Must be a self-motivated team player and demonstrate a high degree of focus and work prioritization within an ever changing, fast paced environment
