Vissla is in search of a Boardshort Designer to join the team in Aliso Viejo, CA.

POSITION SUMMARY //
Vissla is looking for a Boardshort Designer. This individual will be responsible for creating original textile print art, designing, managing and creating innovative designs. As a Designer you will be responsible for following through with design from inception, handing off a final detailed technical comp to the product development team and ensuring SS are complete and on time. The Designer will participate in all fittings and is responsible for ensuring that tech packs are consistently updated as changes occur. You will be responsible for researching trends and technologies that will create both technical and fashion innovation, setting the tone and direction for the coming season’s line.
RESPONSIBILITIES //
• Create original art for allover and engineered textile boardshort prints.
• Innovate and develop new, emerging and existing graphic and design concepts within board shorts category
• Research markets, trends and fabrics in order to bring fresh ideas and innovation.
• Must possess the ability to create own direction as well as take direction and expound upon an idea, managing time professionally.
• Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, resolve conflicts and work alongside product development team to meet deadlines.
• Must be very detail oriented. Responsible for creating detailed technical packages that will be handed off to development.
• Must work within creative standards set by management. Must possess the ability to effectively take design direction, utilizing creativity and talent to design items appropriate for the customer within the surf market.
• When appropriate, the Designer will be required to travel and attend design / market type events. Participating in “vibe” shopping, meetings, as well as possible factory visits.
• Responsible for creating Visual Line Plans and managing updates throughout the design process.
• Must adhere to all sportswear and development timelines by meeting all due dates with 100% complete packages.
• Will need to clearly present concepts and designs to the manager and/or to the team. Must possess the ability to take and to give constructive criticism in order to improve designs.
• Comment on all fabric, trim and color submits.
