This job contributes to REI’s success by defining best in class processes and building a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) across REI’s Distribution Center. This role will enable the Supply Chain team to operate in a more efficient, effective manner to reach short- and long-term productivity improvements and better serve our customer. The role requires a highly resourceful leader with strong operations experience, self-motivation, keen sense of curiosity and learning. They should possess the ability to coach and influence teams not reporting to them and have a successful track record of driving results. This position will be responsible for influencing and leading Continuous Improvement efforts by setting the strategy in conjunction with the CI program manager and site leaders. They will develop and deploy effective tools, methods and processes that reduce waste, utilize data-driven decision making, and promote robust Lean problem solving.

! Partner with site leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement
! Assess current state of processes, perform root cause analysis, and brainstorm solutions to drive efficiency, quality, and reduced costs
! Participate in and contribute to a wide and diverse array of process and material handling topics, while listening to VOC from operators and upstream/downstream partners
! Support tracking and communicating progress of the CI Roadmap across the facility and lead employees along the CI journey in alignment with network goals
! Apply understanding of Continuous Improvement discipline and practice to resolve a variety of complex issues within our organization
! Actively lead and participate in cross-functional projects relating to material handling, technology and business process optimization
! Assess current, future and industry best practices in supply chain fulfillment, e-commerce and distribution
! Provide on-site support for project implementations as needed
! Work cross-functionally to identify and document the impacts of Continuous Improvement initiatives and changes to current business processes
! Implement, facilitate and sustain the utilization of CI tools to include, but not limited to: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management Systems, Standard Work Instructions
! Lead the coordination, planning and facilitation of cross-functional Gemba Walks, Kaizen events and related improvement workshops
! Strengthen Continuous Improvement learning by contributing to the design and deployment of Lean training courses
! Serve as a Continuous Improvement coach to project teams, process owners and site leadership

Bring your passion and expertise

! 5+ years’ experience in retail distribution or e-commerce fulfillment, warehouse management, manufacturing, or material handling
! Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field, or combination of distribution training and relevant experience
! Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and/or 2+ years in a dedicated CI role
! Experience in facilitating improvement workshops and managing multiple projects simultaneously in an operations environment
