Negotiates the flow of hazmat throughout the distribution center.
Develops recordkeeping procedures required by federal regulations
Performs and shares quarterly hazmat compliance audit.
Develops action plan to address deficiencies.
Creates systematic program to help identify hazmat.
Develops SOPs for receiving, handling, packaging and shipping of hazmat.
Maintains and updates training materials to ensure current with Federal Regulations.
Trains all employees on proper handling of hazardous materials.
Inspects inbound/outbound cases for compliance.
Responds to Hazmat queries, Vendor Compliance or Retail Store product information clarifications.
Monitors and ensures compliance of Cross-platform maintenance.
Monitors SDS sheets for proper flagging, storage, and categorization.
Complies with all required regulations/procedures for hazmat processing/storage.
Keeps records of all non-compliant hazmat incidents
Monitors hazmat limits and storage requirements to achieve compliance.
Coordinates with 3rd party on transfer of hazmat product information.
Maintains records of product stored at 3rd party locations.
Reviews reports, assigns/unassigned hazmat SKUs/SKUs without Forward Pick Slot (FPS) to appropriate zones.
Moves product properly: lifting, warehouse machinery, harness, tether.
Coordinates removal of the hazardous waste from facility.

Bring your passion and expertise

! 4+ years experience in hazmat transportation, handling and storage.
! Certified in UPS Hazardous Materials Training
! Understanding of Title 29 (OSHA) and 49 (DOT) Code of Federal Regulations.
! Previous experience in conducting training classes.
! IATA Certification
! Utilize personal computer for data entry and reporting
! Familiar with MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
! Understanding of WM and Performance Management Reports
! Experience in Distribution Center Operations
! Interact with outside federal and local regulating agencies
! Collaborates with others on team and across REI to achieve business goals.
! Flexible viewpoint to support the direction taken by others at REI.
! Uses knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in problem solving.
! Consolidates feedback from others to reach sound judgments.
! Considers impact of choices and actions on all customers.
! Sets effective work goals, priorities, and plans to produce quality work.
