The Digital Experience Team at REI is responsible for designing the websites, apps and in-house tools that support and inspire our customers to get outside. As a Senior UX Researcher, you will use your skills to design, conduct, and analyze research that informs and evolves our digital touchpoints. You will be an advocate for our customers and help the Co-op translate business objectives into products and services that break down barriers and enable life-changing experiences. You’ll collaborate with designers, copywriters, developers, product managers, and business partners to inspire and awaken a lifelong love of the outdoors in everyone. The key responsibilities of this role include: Designing, conducting and leading quantitative and qualitative user experience research to inform and validate the design of digital user experiences Provide synthesis of existing research and a critical lens to frame business questions and decision making Inform and influence design by providing data-driven recommendations and customer hypotheses in well-communicated reports and presentations Define and optimize research methods used by the Digital Experience Team Mentor less-experienced members of the team Bring your passion and expertise Required 5+ years in user research, user experience, interaction design, usability research, or closely-related fields 5+ years’ experience with optimizing customer experiences, recommending user flow and designing interactions based on business goals and customer needs Proficient or knowledgeable in a breadth of customer experience research methods, e.g., ethnography, diary studies, survey, usability studies, shop-alongs, eye-tracking, VOC, web and location analytics Strong knowledge of user experience deliverables such as site maps, wireframes, flow charts, personas, functional specifications, and style guides Highly proficient with data analysis including software and data Experience mentoring and coaching team members Proven ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to promote open communication and teamwork Preferred Degree in a related discipline: user experience, interaction or interface design, human-computer interaction (or equivalent) Prior experience with retail companies and designing for optimal customer experience and increased revenue Strong knowledge of related disciplines such as information architecture, content strategy and brand communications Why you'll love it here Real.
