This team plays a critical role in shaping the strategies that drive growth through marketing programs, channels, and events. You will be a key partner in gathering event analytics—aggregating results across marketing channels, retail, digital, and merchandising to tell the comprehensive story of event (or campaign) performance unified around the customer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn REI’s marketing strategy, offer ideas on how to improve how we report on our performance, and gain responsibility in developing insights about events. • Biweekly communications with marketing channel and program owners to gather business updates that are elevated to marketing leadership Own and innovate on how we collect competitive analytics. • Use these insights to influence what marketing strategies we put forth and where there is opportunity for our channels to be more nimble • Coordination with Marketing Integration team to make sure the teams are synced on the go-to-market plan, the goals of the campaign, and timeline for reporting on results • Support the data collection process and analysis that answers key business questions about event performance through the lens of the customer • Support the analysis of performance drivers and surface recommendations, partner closely with marketing integration team to translate these recommendations into impacts actions which will impact our Go To Market approach • Seek efficiencies in aggregating insights across divisions and develop best practices for measurement post-event (or campaign) • Contribute to the total effectiveness of the Marketing Planning & Performance team through transparent, proactive contributions, offering creative solutions to problems in a constructive manner • Support the annual strategic planning process by identifying potential growth areas; make recommendations on marketing strategies and align with marketing stakeholders to support innovative opportunities Bring your passion and expertise • 0-3 years professional experience, preferably with consulting background • Bachelor’s degree • Degree in business or science/math/engineering discipline preferred • Comfortable dealing with data and using data to tell a story • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint • Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines • Accuracy and attention to detail • Excellent organization and communication skills • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals • Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities • Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers • Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work • Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals • Clearly conveys and accurately receives information by a variety of methods and in various situations • Builds rapport with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization • Acts upon opportunities and involves and influences others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals • Challenges the status quo, champions change and influences others to change Why you'll love it here Real.
