As a member of the Experience Team, you will be responsible for leading planning and business process surrounding critical strategic initiatives, including integration of newly acquired businesses and market expansion plans. You will be responsible for keeping teams on track with critical planning processes, ensuring business cases are well defined, financial planning is in place, continuous strategic plan updates are made and communicated, and talent management practices are followed. You will provide a critical strategic function in terms of organization, communication and meeting deadlines. You will act as “chief of staff” to the Experience Leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President. You will be a proactive champion for the team focused on the mission to improve the culture of accountability by streamlining processes and ensuring broad awareness of the Experiences business results, monthly business reviews, progress against priorities and KPI/goal reporting. Works across the company to build broad understanding and support for Experience strategies, best practices, and priorities, and the impact they will have on the company. Models and acts in accordance with REI's guiding values and mission. Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results. Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews. Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results. Your Planning & Navigating Requirements Develops, deploys and manages planning frameworks to coordinate the development and execution of experience growth strategies. Oversees integration planning and coordination for newly acquired companies or assigned partnerships. Ensures the deployment of integration process at all stages, from pre-acquisition planning through post-acquisition execution and reporting. Supports and leads continuous strategy development and planning and elevates strategic thinking across the organization in conjunction with senior leadership to define and achieve the Experience’s business 3-5 year vision. Works with leadership to establish core business KPI’s. Builds and maintains operating dashboards that help drive operational rigor and manage the business’s performance. Supports and creates reports and presentations for senior leaders and the Board of Directors regarding key strategic initiatives as well as competitive, retail, and industry trends. Help Experience leadership plan for inorganic growth and development and continually improve integration playbook to ensure value capture. Partners cross-divisionally in leading Experience business planning to drive financial and engagement results and align with enterprise objectives. Lead planning team to provide regular business updates, clear communication of sales plan assumptions, and awareness of macro-economic and environmental factors that may impact. Play a leadership role in ensuring teams are actively applying customer insights and business performance data to the development of strategic and tactical direction. Take a lead role in coordinating the activities required for the Experience leadership team to keep the broader experiences organization on track, including for example, budget planning, board update support, presidents report updates, expense tracking, strategic planning, performance & talent management, all hands planning etc. Stay current on industry practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business. Build organization capabilities and skills required to implement and support the Experiences Retail strategic plan. Develops and maintains strong professional relationships with key individual stakeholders and partner teams throughout REI. Delivers annual team resource, expense, and performance plans in support of Experiences goals and objectives. Communicates progress, obstacles and solutions to partners and management for Bring your passion and expertise • BA/BS required. MBA Preferred. • 7 Plus years of transaction experience in corporate development, M&A or Post Merger Integration. • 7 plus years experience in multi-channel retailing preferred. • Ability to think and pivot between strategic and tactical actions; persistent attention to detail and ability to learn and flourish through ambiguity. • Proven experience establishing vision and goals; developing strategic and tactical plans; and leading cross-divisional teams in accomplishing key strategic initiatives. • Skilled at influencing and motivating colleagues without direct authority. • Knowledge of business principles from multiple disciplines and ability to apply these principles in driving change/outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities. • Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills. Able to interact effortlessly with senior executives, junior team members, outside professional advisors with the ability to calibrate based on the audience. • Confident leading meetings with executive stakeholders, making decisions, documenting progress and resolving issues quickly and collaboratively. • Builds capacity of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts. • Creates a strong, mutually supportive work spirit and culture where people can do their best.
