This Business Analyst within Supply Chain contributes to REI’s success by informing strategic decisions and plans using empirical data and systems thinking. This position will work collaboratively across REI’s value chain to evaluate our business systems, process, or industrial design’s ability to meet our strategic objectives. You will model how changing business strategies will impact these systems and analyze potential solutions that improve our ability to meet our strategic outcomes. The Business Analyst will be expected to complete analysis at a level of detail appropriate for the level of complexity and risk that maximizes our speed through the decision-making process but protects the organization. Most importantly is the ability to communicate complex processes and analysis to cross divisional stakeholders with varying degrees of understanding of supply chain principles.
Role:
! Develops models of REI’s Supply Chain through process and value stream mapping
! Develops, presents, and recommends plans, solutions, and strategies associated to effective Sales and Operations Planning, Long Run Strategic Planning, and support Budgeting Process
! Analyzes complex business system performance using data from internal and external sources that are structured and unstructured, to provide insight to decision-makers
! Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Identify key drivers and use results to recommend changes and identify areas for improvement
! Provide consultation and participate on cross-functional teams to address business issues. May lead cross-functional teams on small projects
! Directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools that improves the enterprises ability to generate performance insights
Skills:
! Understand key performance levels (on-time delivery, cost, feasibility, etc) and seek solutions to improve these metrics
! Have a high level of curiosity and be excited by the prospect of diving deep into varied product categories, each with their own unique characteristics
! Experience in or knowledge of supply chain planning and design (or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply complex technical skills)
! Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
! Some knowledge of the principles of optimization and how optimization is performed using software packages
! Earn trust from multiple teams internally and externally to collaborate successfully
! Analyze and design processes that can scale to meet objectives
! Show the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills
! Demonstrate strong ownership and entrepreneurial drive
! Database skills
Qualifications:
! 4+ years of relevant work experience
! Data mining and extraction skills like; SQL, Python, R
! Expertise in Excel, Tableau, and/or other analytical and data visualization platforms
! Strong understanding of supply chain finance
! Excellent communication skills
! Proven track record of cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders that have resulted in high customer satisfaction
! A bachelor’s degree required (preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or Industrial Engineering)
! Familiarity with planning, forecasting, transportation, inventory management, and strategic sourcing
Preferred:
! MBA
! Lean/Six Sigma
! Llamasoft

! Compiles and analyzes business data and metrics using MS Access, MS Excel and SQL tools
! Develops and/or refines data collection and analysis tools to measure and manage processes or business metrics
! Delivers verbal and written reports of projects or managed business processes using MS PowerPoint and MS Word to document and present the work content
! Creates reports monthly or bi-weekly
! Monitors costs or service level agreements with internal or external clients
! Negotiates or assists in the negotiation of contracts
! Schedules Vendor Account Management activities once per quarter
! Negotiates contracts and service level agreements
! Develops and recommends changes to strategy or process based upon data analysis and/or process testing; work may be reviewed by their Manager or Senior peer on an as needed basis
