This job contributes to REI’s success by coordinating and prepping merchandise samples for the media studio and location photo shoots. The Photo Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for the successful execution of photography through the receipt, return, and tracking of Merchandise associated with REI Marketing projects, Co-op Brands and REI.com. This position coordinates products to multiple project schedules in order to meet all internal deadlines. Collaborates with Production Manager, Planning Manager, and Merchandising to ensure sample timelines are met.

This role supports building world-class product experiences with best in class product imagery and video enhancing REI’s digital and print experiences through execution in three key areas:

! Product receiving and prepping: Utilizes internal tracking and production planning systems to support photography and meet deadlines. Maintains a high level of product knowledge to validate and enhance shot lists. Identifies and resolves inventory/sample discrepancies, product availability issues and communicate changes to support broader photo studio workflow.

! Product workflow routing: Provides relevant project information to ensure effective utilization of resources. Works proactively to reduce product related scheduling conflicts and raise any sample timing issues.

! Marketing projects, Co-op Brands Product Ordering and Scheduling: Coordinate with the Studio Production Manager, Studio Planning Manager, and production team to ensure proper product flow and scheduling samples for campaigns, events, co-op brands, and reshoots. Responsible for ordering all products needed for any campaigns, events, co-op brands content needs, and location support.

This role enhances customer experience by supporting the production of complete, consistent, accurate, appropriate and interesting information that educates and helps our customers make the best possible buying decision (by way of REI-provided images). They have an emphasis on Lean methodologies and possess a process-improvement approach to increase studio output. They apply a “customer first” mindset, keeping the customer at the center of what we do.

This job is responsible for contributing to ongoing business process improvement efforts to drive Marketing efficiency and effectiveness. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Job Duties:

! Maintains and provides information for projects within the project management tool and implements sample management processes for handling and tracking samples

! Coordinates and responds to change requests from original project plan

! Coordinates project and process objectives in support of REI Media studio initiatives

! Coordinates sample receipt and prepares for product review meetings

! Ensures studio SLA is tracked and adhered to agreed time

! Document and maintain standard operating work procedures

! Eliminates wasteful efforts within the team and make suggestions for broader process improvements that can be shared and cultivated across partnering teams, embracing great operators philosophy’s

! Creates and provides clear shot lists and product direction for on set photography

! Ensures coordination of all samples are prepped and routed to scheduled set

! Collaborates with Merchandising to ensure timely delivery of samples

! Communicates timely and accurate information on sample status to campaign stakeholders

! Organizes and oversees sample storage, accessibility and clearance while ensuring adequate security

! Responsible for the accurate tracking and accounting of sample inventory

! Responsible for yearly audits of marketing storage 9002

! Assists coworkers and freelance with packing and product procurement for REI location photography shoots

Bring your passion and expertise

! 3+ years developing a broad based knowledge of outdoor recreational equipment
! 2+ years of experience working in shipping and inventory movement management
! Experience managing multiple projects and tasks
! Self directed and capable of handling last minute changes to meet deadlines
! Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
! Proficient PC knowledge: Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook
! Broad knowledge of outdoor recreational equipment
! Experience with database management and inventory tracking systems
! Excellent communication and strong organizational skills
! Experience with Adobe In-Design and working in a Mac based environment preferred
