This job contributes to REI’s success by setting the strategy and managing the company’s treasury organization. This role is a critical position for the company and will support current treasury, investment, payment, and cash management operations while developing a strategy and leading execution against the strategy to evolve these functions’ processes, policies and capabilities. The Senior Manager of Treasury will assist with the analysis, execution and implementation of company finance strategies including capital structure, financing initiatives and other projects tied to improvements in working capital and cash forecasting. This role will be a key participant in broad cross-divisional activities in support of both existing and future treasury, investment, payment, and cash management capabilities. The leader in this position will help foster continuous process improvement within their organization and broadly across the co-op. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

! Establishes and maintains visibility within the department
! Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action
! Leads and nurtures a work culture that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives
! Oversight of the treasury, investment and cash management activities of the organization, ensuring that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet corporate needs and objectives. Designs effective treasury & Finance controls and policies
! Proactively identifies and actions against opportunities for process improvement; instills a continuous improvement mindset in teams
! Manages payment strategies analysis and related projects within Treasury, and advises cross-divisionally, in support of efforts to control expenses, enhance data security, and drive profitability related to customer payments
! Works cross-divisionally supporting senior leaders and REI’s strategic initiatives; Manages and executes large cross-divisional projects involving senior management
! Ensures compliance with organization policies, treasury-related contracts and all applicable regulations
! Develops long-term cash management strategy in line with the Company’s strategic plan and budgeting process
! Manages and monitors corporate liquidity, investing activity, and cash flow projections. Drives the development of enhanced cash forecasting processes and insights
! Manages the strategic planning of credit facility agreements and usage and oversees the ongoing compliance requirements and activities
! Manages and maintains relationships across the banking community including corporate bankers, bank operational counterparts, treasury infrastructure and technology providers.
! Administers the company’s T&E and P-Card programs; establishes and enforces policies and controls for such programs
! Tracks currency and commodities for Merchandising and Co-op Brands, and advises on payment strategies for international vendors & factories
! Implements appropriate systems and management tools to assist treasury functions
! Serves as a subject matter expert for treasury operations
! Seeks to reduce expense and maximize the profitability of REI
! Completes special projects, duties and initiatives as required.

Bring your passion and expertise

! 10+ years of cash management, treasury and/or finance experience
! 5+ years of leadership experience
! Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
! Certified Cash Manager or Certified Treasury Professional
! Experience with a growing multi-unit retailer preferred
! Advanced experience in banking services, products and regulations. Advanced use of Excel and standard corporate technology and tools
! Demonstrated effective leadership and motivational skills
! Effective oral and written communication skills
! Proven ability to prepare for and present to senior leaders
! Excellent project management skills
! Effective work methods and good organization and time management skills
! Excellent follow through and attention to detail
! Ability to identify, analyze, and objectively solve problems
