The Business Analyst within Retail’s Circular Commerce team contributes to REI’s success by informing strategic decisions and plans using empirical data and systems thinking. This position will work collaboratively across REI’s commercial streams to develop insights, build dashboards, improve processes, and support business cases.

The Business Analyst will be expected to complete analysis at a level of detail that drives sound decisions, informs key partners in planning, and creates efficiency for program managers. Most important is the ability to communicate complex processes and analysis to cross divisional stakeholders who possess varied degree of sophistication in understanding circular commerce.

! Develops models of REI’s circular commercial value stream, inclusive of returns, trade-ins, and used gear sales
! Develops, presents, and recommends plans, solutions, and strategies in service to the profitable growth our circular commercial value stream
! Analyzes complex business system performance using data from internal and external sources that are structured and unstructured, to provide insight to decision-makers
! Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Identifies key drivers and use results to recommend changes for improvement
! Consultation and participate on cross-functional teams to address business issues. May lead cross-functional teams on small projects
! Produces datasets and reports for analysis that improve enterprise visibility to and understanding of our business

Bring your passion and expertise

! 3+ years experience in one or more of the following areas of discipline: Omni Channel business analysis, product sales analysis, retail business process analysis
! Knowledge of the principles of optimization and how optimization is performed using software packages (example Llamasoft)
! A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Ops Management
! 3+ years experience data mining and extraction skills like; SQL, Python, R
! Demonstrates a strong competency of Statistics
! Has developed business cases that use hard data analysis and demonstrates competency with key corporate financial principles such as IRR, ROI, Depreciation, etc…
! Ability to analyze and/or design processes that can scale to meet objectives as well as develop measurements to control these processes
! Show the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills
! Expertise in Excel, Tableau, and/or other analytical and data visualization platforms
! Proven track record of cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders that have resulted in high customer satisfaction
! Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals
! Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI
! Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities
! Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions
! Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers
! Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work
! Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals
! Clear and solution oriented verbal and written communication skills
! Challenges the status quo, champions change and influences others to change
