The Technical Project Manager provides leadership and contributes to REI’s success by planning, developing, managing, and delivering technology for REI retail locations. Projects include new stores, expansions, remodels, activity, and adventure centers. While working closely with infrastructure teams and vendors in the delivery of the IT workstream, this role also works cross divisionally with several other partners and groups to successfully deliver on a seamless experience for REI associates, customers, and members. Your leadership will model and act in alignment with REI’s guiding values and mission.
! Initiate, plan, control, and implement medium to large cross-divisional projects utilizing REI’s project management practices
! Plan projects in detail, develop and manage project budgets, organize project teams and work with resource managers to coordinate and align resource needs
! Ensure overall deliverables are completed, including project charter, plan, schedule, requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, policies and procedures, standards, contracts, risks, and issues resolutions
! Identify, evaluate, and proactively manage cross-project interdependencies
! Manage progress of efforts and communicate status to sponsors, stakeholders and team members on a regular basis and to senior leadership as needed
! Identify and implement process improvements in partnership with other team members and groups
! Advocate and evolve REI’s project management methodology

Required Qualifications! 2 years Project Management experience with at least 2 years managing IT infrastructure projects
! Understanding and basic troubleshooting of various systems and infrastructure topologies
! Strong relationship management skills and understanding of organizational change management
! Understanding of various delivery frameworks and practices (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, Lean, etc.) and appropriate application of them
! Experience with various project management and delivery tools such as Project, Smartsheet, Excel, ServiceNow, Atlassian products, O365
Preferred Skills ! 1-2 years’ experience with hardware rollouts and installations to retail locations
! Familiarity with construction site safety requirements
! Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Travel and physical requirements:! Travel up to 20% with typical duration being 1 week (during peak periods travel could be twice a month)
! Must have the ability to lift and maneuver boxes weighing up to 50lbs
! Must be able to stand for multiple hours when supporting installations
