Business Intelligence & Analytics at REI has been going through a transformational journey to enable the co-op to be a data driven organization. Along with a complete revamp of the entire analytical platform ecosystem which includes onboarding new solutions and migrating to Cloud, the team continues to enhance our already rich data platforms with additional data that helps to drive actionable insights across the Co-op. The team also develops new analytical products in the form of reports, Dashboards and Data Science products to solve critical business problems. Our team of Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, Project Managers and Data Scientists use technologies such Snowflake, SAP BW, MongoDB, AWS Services, Tableau, Business Objects, Sigma Computing and programming languages like SQL, Python, R & Terraform to support multiple projects in data integration, analytics and data science.
As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build new data integrations and data products to solve complex data and business problems in support of our Marketing, Digital Retail, Physical Retail, Merchandising, Finance, Customer Insights and Supply Chain teams. Working in an agile environment, you will collaborate with business partners and the rest of the team to build world class products. Responsibilities
Design, develop & deploy data pipelines between a variety of internal and external sources and the Enterprise Data Warehouse using SQL, Python and AWS services.
Ensure data quality and data availability by building accurate, audited, scalable and performant data interfaces that cleanse, organize and integrate disparate data into an easily consumable format for end-user facing reports and data science models.
Collaborate with the Product managers and Stakeholders to understand data needs, iterate and refine requirements and develop products that meets the goals.
Adhere and contribute to development best practices, version control and deployment strategies to ensure product quality, agility and recoverability.
Provide administration support for AWS services, Database platform and analytics solutions.
Work closely with Production Support team to ensure comprehensive transition of developed products and provide ongoing Subject matter expertise and support.
Explore and learn the latest developments in AWS, Database platforms, Analytics toolsets and programming languages to introduce new capabilities to the team and identify opportunities to refine and improve the current solutions.
Bring your passion and expertise
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and experience.
2+ years’ experience as a Data/ETL Engineer with Cloud Database technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, Bigquery, AzureDB.
5+ years’ experience as a Data/ETL Engineer with Relational Database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Netzza, terradata
5+ years of experience with writing advanced SQL queries.
Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
2+ years of scripting experience in Python.
Knowledge of Agile and Scrum project methodologies utilizing Jira/Confluence
Experience in AWS services like S3, EC2 etc is highly desired
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, accountable and constant learner.
Experience working for a large retail company is preferred.
Experience in working with Data science and Reporting teams is preferred.
