The Senior Project Manager contributes to the success of the division and the accelerator program by employing strategic project leadership and project management principles to create, launch and operate a dynamic and evolving accelerator program. This position operates with a level of autonomy and influence to successfully execute projects for business initiatives, go to market campaigns, digital asset creation and other time sensitive business communications that are directed by the Racial Equity Accelerator Strategy. Utilizes best in class project management techniques to manage ongoing business process improvement, standardize workflow, drive role clarity and improve resource efficiency. Manages timelines and communications needed to coordinate, build and launch business projects on time, on brand and in budget. This role will work with the accelerator team to identify all workstreams needed to successfully support the accelerator program and integrate with dependent teams and resources.

Accountable for management of end to end oversight of multiple concurrent business critical projects that range from simple to strategically complex in cross divisional scope and scale. Manages internal and cross-divisional teams to execute projects against annual business initiatives and go to market plans.
Ensure the on-time delivery of high quality, relevant customer experiences that meet stated business objectives within approved scope and budget parameters.
Key project liaison between internal, cross-divisional and third-party partners in the management of project timelines, dependencies, issue resolution and asset delivery.
Develop a broad set of relationships and collaborate across Merchandising and Coop Brands, Marketing, Digital, Vendor Operations, Strategy, Finance and technical teams to drive the vision for the assigned business areas.
Accountable for identifying resource needs within a project schedule to drive team member focus and efficiency. Proactively elevates resource concerns and advocates on the team’s behalf to alleviate capacity issues.
Accountable for motivating and coordinating cross department/divisional project teams to deliver a first in class accelerator program from project scoping to planning to project delivery.
Accountable for applying process innovation to project management approach and when necessary employing non-traditional methods and strong problem-solving skills to move work forward.
Accountable for making decisions, often under pressure, with both internal and external partners that influence outcomes within key deliverables.
Support value-based decision-making. Understand the value and cost of the work we do and use this to drive decisions.
Leverage “Smartsheet” or equivalent work management tool daily to centrally house project requirements, schedules, documentation and resource time tracking.
Contribute perspective, insights and knowledge to support the organization’s broader REDI strategy; take a balanced consultative and systemic approach to enable the organization to advance work through strategic and tactical/operational execution.
Strong collaborator and influencer; ability to reach beyond immediate scope to influence and lead change initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
Proactively connects dots between our approach to incubating BIPOC entrepreneurs/brands and the policies/practices we take more broadly/working with BIPOC & underrepresented brands

Bring your passion and expertise

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years’ demonstrated experience as a project manager within a corporation or agency working across multiple divisions in a fast paced environment
5+ years’ demonstrated experience leading process improvements efforts and implementing innovative solutions to solve business problems preferred
Proven knowledge and application of project management principles and methodology. Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience working in lean/agile, constantly changing environments
Extremely organized and highly accountable
Strong cross cultural and interpersonal skills with proven ability to successfully approach, build trust and relationships, and negotiate across multiple cultures, markets, communities, and leadership levels preferred
Proven ability to consolidate information from various sources including feedback from others to resolve project issues and reach sound business decisions
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office business applications
Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communications
Experience actively participating, collaborating, influencing and leading with others on one's own team and cross-divisionally for the achievement of business goals
Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities
Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers
Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals
Sets effective work goals, establishes priorities, and plans well to produce quality work
Clearly conveys and accurately receives information by a variety of methods and situations
Challenges the status quo, champions change and galvanizes others into action around building more diverse and inclusive programs and practices
Flexible in one's viewpoints and positions to support the direction taken by others at REI
Experience working within a work management tool, like Smartsheet or Airtable, for schedule building, housing project requirements, communications and time tracking
