Tommy’s is a Malibu/Axis dealership with a service center, and wake/surf pro shop. We are located in four different locations, including Walloon Lake, MI, Grand Rapids, MI, Golden, CO, and Clermont, FL.
Tommy’s Colorado is offering an exciting position to those with boating, water sport, and customer service related backgrounds! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Instruct customers, of all ages on surfing, wakeboarding, wake skating, water skiing, knee boarding, and tubing while making a personal connection with all customers.
• Ensure and promote safety through required gear on the boat and on the customers (life vests, emergency kits, etc.)
• Have general knowledge of what the pro shop has to offer in regards to gear tour customers may be interested in
• Call/text, seek out past and prospective customers
• Promote the Tommy’s brand and the SurfGate Tour and educate customers on Malibu/Axis boats
• Ability and desire to travel to different lakes
• Ability to drive and operate the Tommy’s RV, as well as trailer and launch a boat behind it
• Responsible for keeping the RV and surf tour boat clean and maintained
• Responsible for ensuring all required gear is on the boat and is in good condition
• Have knowledge of Malibu and Axis boats and what they have to offer
• Collect surf tour customer’s information for future events/future customers
• Report any possible boat buyers from tour to supervisor
• Ability to size customers to the correct boards, skis, vests, etc.
• Any other requests by supervisor

• To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
• Trailering: ability to trailer boats safely and efficiently, as well as launch them into the water
• Instructing: must be able to perform and instruct people of all ages in skiing, tubing, wake boarding, wake surfing, and knee boarding.
• Operation of boats: ability to safely operate a wide range of different boats and correctly set up the surf system in each.
• Communication: Able to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and company personnel, able to clearly and effectively communicate information both orally and in writing
• Safety: be knowledgeable of and uphold all laws and regulations, understand that the Surf Tour instructor is responsible for the safety of all people onboard the surf tour boat
• Humility: ability to honestly and openly communicate any mistakes or mishaps made and have the ability to learn from them.
• Have Fun: ability to recognize the excitement of the job and come to work excited to learn, teach, and make connections with everyone the Surf Tour Instructor encounters.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
• Driver’s License: a valid driver’s license required
• Background Check: pass a thorough background check required
• Drug Test: pass a thorough drug test required
• Boaters license: valid boaters license required
• CPR: certified for CPR preferred
• Knowledge and experience of all watersports: Required
• Swim: ability to swim and tread water. Required
• Experience: 5 years of boating experience required. 5 years of water sport experience required

**Compensation: $12-15/hour, plus tips
