Westfield Outdoors is looking to add a Patio Product Designer to its team in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Responsibilities:
The Patio Product Designer is responsible for creating innovative solutions by working closely with product management and manufacturing teams to deliver new items across all patio furniture product categories. The main function of this position is to take the vision of our internal staff and customers to create new designs that include technical packages for manufacturing.
Job Functions:
• Conceptualize and create new product designs and design improvements within time and budget
• Work closely with product managers and sales team to define product requirements
• Stay current on market and design trends including regular trend reports and presentations
• Participate in innovation planning
• Attend trade shows to represent the company and perform industry research
• Suggest and select materials, components and construction to ensure product performance
• Hold design reviews to further refine concepts and move to prototype and production phases
• Communicate regularly with overseas manufacturing teams, product managers, and sales team
• Travel to customers and Asia as needed
