Position Summary

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Developer is responsible for defining business requirements and delivering high quality technical solutions to maximize our Salesforce Marketing Cloud automation platform. This role is part of our technology team and will assist Canyon to design and develop solutions within SFMC platform. Responsibilities include collaborating with our CRM team and SAP team to enhance communication between platforms. The SFMC Developer will also lead the design, development, testing and implementation work of customizations, applications, extensions, and integrations to Salesforce.

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing cross-channel communications using all modules in Salesforce Marketing Cloud including but not limited to Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, Contact Builder, Mobile Push and Mobile Connect.
• Understanding the primary SFMC data model and architecture.
• Apply SQL (queries) for data transformation and segmentation, and scripting languages for content personalization.
• Recommend improvement on existing Marketing Cloud architecture implementations
• Troubleshot, debug and upgrade existing solutions.
• Code review and code optimization
• Use SSJS to interact with data
• Manage FTP and Data imports
• Develop content block that utilizes AMPscript to pull content
• Understand the use of data views and query data out
• Building and automating SQL based direct-to-consumer campaigns using enterprise applications, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Campaign Management Tools.
• Deliver complex projects in a fast-paced, team environment
• Lead and assist pursuits and Practice Development initiatives
• Develop your knowledge of and gain project experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud's newest and future solutions
• Develop & implement solutions appropriate for our partner by integrating our solutions into their “to be’ architectures
• Incident detection, resolution and/or escalation
• Conducts root cause analysis and correction resulting in prevention
• Coordinate with vendors, system engineers and application team
• Training and coaching internal teams on how to best use Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Conducting data analysis and optimizing performance of slowly running queries.
• Liaising with cross-functional teams including Technical Teams, Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing, Analytics, Web Operations, and Marketing for continuous enhancement of CRM marketing capabilities.
• Documenting data/process flows and QA validations.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or other related field. Equivalent work experience would be considered.
• Proven work experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud developer or similar role.
• At least 7+ years of experience relevant to this position implementing Salesforce Marketing Cloud projects
• At least 5+ years of hands on experience in SQL and HTML.
• Strong knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, and the Lightning platform development framework
• Hands-on experience on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Platform.
• Hands on experience with Marketing Cloud Configuration, Marketing Cloud Connector Configuration, Data Modelling.
• Experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience documenting customer problems and software solutions using BRDs, SDs, wireframes, diagrams, workflows, and mock-ups
• Experience with ETL and related tools & processes for loading data to and from the Salesforce.com platform
• Proficient in using Git and maintain scripts in Git
• Proficiency in web services from SOAPUI, REST Client etc.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, RUP, other).
• Must demonstrate flexibility, the ability to multi-task and collaborate with a variety of team members.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
• Salesforce certification is a plus.
