Position: Digital Marketing Manager
Reports: to Blair Clark, President, Canyon US

Basics:
The Digital Marketing Manager (DMM) leads all activities to generate web traffic, convert shoppers into buyers and provide high level consumer engagement and retention. The DMM creates strategies, develops initiatives and executes tactics for direct to consumer bicycle sales in collaboration with Canyon Germany which are localized for the US market.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:
• Lead digital marketing activities for Canyon US business in collaboration with brand, product and customer experience guidelines established by Canyon Germany.
• Maximize traffic generating, conversion and consumer engagement and retention.
• Collaborate, influence, mobilize and energize complex cross-functional and partnership teams with the overarching goal of generating online sales.
• Determine the appropriate path when faced with ambiguous situations, lack of complete data and the time-sensitive need to prioritize among multiple possibilities.
• Deliver clear and compelling strategies and presentations to senior management.
• Supervise planning and development of all digital marketing initiatives, programs and campaigns: online brand and product ads, social media, mobile, website deliverables.
• Lead regional personnel in providing insights from the Americas region in the effort to achieve the overall global marketing objectives.
• Create new and innovative brand communication proposals through a digital lens based on historical information and current market trends to evolve digital footprint.
• Determine which tactics will build or erode equity for a premium positioned brand.
• Adapt to changing priorities, be decisive under ambiguity and meet tight deadlines.

Management:
• Collaborate with digital and brand marketing counterparts in Canyon Germany on leveraging digital tools to align product technology or ride experience campaign messages while simultaneously establishing a US personality for the brand via:
o SEO (search engine optimization) to improve web and brand awareness;
o SEM (search engine marketing) to include pay per click advertisements;
o SMO (social media optimization) to raise the visibility of Canyon social media activity and content to drive traffic to the website or to a blog and build an exciting and thriving community around the Canyon brand; and
o SMM (social media marketing) to build brand awareness through paid ads.
• Build Social Media planning and delivery capabilities with tools and partnerships.
• Lead the effort to manage across Marketing and Commercial partnerships (i.e., Rapha cycling team) to ensure programs are maximized for measurable results and coordinated across online and event channels.

Execution:
• Build value propositions through customer insight analysis.
• Develop and execute the necessary digital and Direct To Consumer (DTC) campaign strategies, plans and deliverables to drive Canyon US commercial initiatives which are targeted by region and by cycling experience.
• Generate forward thinking content and communication strategies across the various digital media platforms to amplify Canyon’s message and engage consumers within the cycling vertical mainstream digital or social media.
• Ensure digital marketing excellence across the region to create the highest possible brand and consumer experience.
• Integrate all digital activities across public relations, events, advertising and media according to brand experience objectives.

Tools:
• Implement and execute a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solution.
• Engage CRM partners to maximize utility.
• Develop CRM initiatives and ongoing management and optimization.
