Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the organization’s social media and online interactions with customers through social media.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities:
• Planning, coordinating and scheduling of all social media activities
• Manage all social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.
• Timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and comments on social media channels
• Organize and manage content for social media channels such as video, photography and text, in alignment with Canyon brand guidelines
• Oversee the social media strategy for the company ensuring alignment with global direction and the brand.
• Engage with customers through the use of social media and maximizing the number of followers on social media platforms.
• Keep up to date with developments in social media technology and platforms and new relevant social media channels and their impact on the branding
• Ensure that approaches to social media are relevant and appropriate for each medium
• Work with marketing team and other relevant input providers at Canyon US and Canyon Germany to identify to ensure social media are used to support overall company goals
• Design and deliver social media campaigns relevant to local market and provide data analytics to guide future social media campaigns
• Ensure constant supply of content for all social media platforms considering factors such as customer comments and overall strategy
• Educate marketing team and others as appropriate about social media and its impact on driving sales
• Create and implement community management approach through social media

Major Challenge:
Balancing global expectations with local needs and manage possibly conflicting objectives; remain at the forefront of newest developments in the fast moving social media world; initially creating the Canyon brand for the US market

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in social media role, preferably as social media manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Passionate about bicycling and Canyon brand
• Passionate about social media as communication channel
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Up to date knowledge of trends and best practices in social media
• Creative
• Willingness and flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends
• Thorough understanding of content management systems
• Excellent understanding of digital marketing, search engine optimization and how social media influence this
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience in photography and videography helpful

Work Environment:
Work is performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Physical Factors:
