We have an immediate opportunity for a Bike Project Manager/Supply Chain Expert.

Position Summary:

• The US Bike Project Manager is the champion of delivering the Canyon USA bike portfolio on time. He/she is responsible for managing the day-to-day related project work to deliver bikes in the US market in accordance with the timing/cash flow/ volume and quality needs of the business plan. The core responsibility of the position is to lead a cross functional process of creating the bike sales and development plan. (if needed also bikes related projects special cross-functional projects)

• The bike plan serves as the basis for the annual plan (business case) which the US executive team develops and submits to the Koblenz executive team for approval. The US Bike Project Manager would work closely with the marketing and sales teams to develop the Project development timeline and launch plan.

• Working closely with the Bike Category Managers and Project Managers in Koblenz, the Bike Project Manager follows up on all Project development activities to insure a successful “cradle to grave” Project lifecycle of the bike portfolio new bikes as well as enhancement projects.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities:

• Manage the product line delivery and margin: models and specification model year change process throughout the supply chain and internal stakeholders: purchasing, sales and marketing.
• Maintains the milestone plan, ensuring various departments deliver on time and accurately.
• Participate in quarterly Obermeyer planning meetings in Germany
• Attend Taiwanese BOM quotation meetings
• Manage the OPP BOM and data integrity
• Coordinate with purchasing all bike orders, warranty & small parts support.
• Liaise with German project managers to for cohesive global launch plan awareness, with the primary objective of delivering bikes in synch with US market timing aligned with competitors which means essentially launching many bikes 3-4 months earlier in the year.
• Work with US sales and marketing to coordinate bike arrival and website deployment
• Work with sales and marketing on go to market strategy
• Communication of the Project vision to sales team and the Canyon service center.

How You’ll Make a Difference

• Collaborate with a diverse team to develop, plan and execute integrated marketing plans that support new product launches and marketing campaigns globally.
• Develop timelines, improve processes and workflow to produce compelling marketing assets to connect to our rider within a specific product category on time and on budget.
• Partner with stake holders: sales, marketing, purchasing and suppliers to prioritize, maintain project schedule and strategize business targets.
• Analyze and align project needs with available resourcing, business objectives and broader marketing strategy.
• Facilitate meetings and effectively communicate project expectations and deadlines to team members and stakeholders
• Ensure project documents are on brand, complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Solicit feedback from markets and internal stakeholders to deliver custom/or limited run projects.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can articulate business needs, rider needs, project needs and deadlines to a wide variety of audiences.
• You're a charismatic people person who can talk to anyone and doesn’t hide behind email to get work done. You can motivate and inspire people to see your point of view in all levels of the organization
• Your project and time management skills are excellent, you learn quickly, and you can accommodate rapid change.
• Detail oriented with the ability to thrive under tight deadlines and effectively prioritize projects among rapidly changing opportunities.
• Maintain a high sense of urgency and entrepreneurial work ethic that is required to drive to successful business outcomes.
• You understand your role in print, digital and video asset creation and approval cycles to deliver product in concert with their needs for product display merchandising, PR, ads, etc..
• 5 years of project management experience
• Experience with the following tools are a major bonus:
• Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, and JIRA Service Desk
• Dropbox and/or other asset management systems
• Standard Office suite and project management software

Technical understanding of bicycles and bicycle related components
• Working with the VP of Operations, own the bike availability and communicate it accurately and widely amongst the employees but particularly sales & marketing.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field

Work Experience:
• 5-8 years of cycling industry experience as a Project Manager, or Planner
• Proven track record of successful team leadership and achievement of results
• Thorough knowledge and experience in Project management
• Experience in consumer direct marketing (B2C)
• Strategic thinking, yet comfortable with ambiguity and effective at tactical level
• Thorough Project knowledge of bicycles, especially categories: XC, Trail, Enduro, Gravity and eBike
• Strong and effective creative project management and ability to lead and direct outside resources
• Ability to manage multiple projects on various levels with different?and converging timelines
• Excellent verbal and?written communication skills
• Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives to a wide range of audiences.
• Comfort level working independently and cooperatively to lead a diverse group with a bias towards actions that generate consumer awareness or engagement.
• Operating experience collaborating and aligning with global counterparts and ensuring global brand excellence and customer centricity on the regional level of the US.
• Previous experience working with a premium positioned brand and understanding tactics that can both build or potentially erode brand equity.
• Marketplace understanding and ability to activate a network of internal and external resources.
• Sufficient experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office to independently create Power Point presentations, excel spreadsheets, analysis or marketing collateral materials
• Excellent interpersonal skills – willingness and ability to resolve conflicts in an appropriate and constructive manner
• Experience in determining and managing budgets
• Current passport and willingness and ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
• Stellar presentation skills with the ability to inspire others to see your vision – a natural communicator, both written and oral
• Collaborative, team-player with an open mind and good listening skills
• Strong bike mechanic skills
• Ability to master our internal Project line management software in order to manage projects
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Work Environment
Work is performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Position requires up to 30-40% of travel both domestically and internationally. Passport is required for this position.
